La dimensione live, ricca di momenti felici, ne ha ricreato tutto l'intenso lirismo apolinneo che rendeva ogni sua nota indispensabile. L'affinità stilistica che lega Peter Bernstein e Guido Di Leone produce un raffinato dialogo musicale in cui prevalgono le proverbiali sottigliezze melodiche e timbriche che Hall amava riversare anche nei brani dal mood più vivace.
L'intento di Bernstein e Di Leone}} è semplice, ma efficace nella sua empatica realizzazione. All'insegna della sobrietà interpretativa si sviluppa così un percorso mimetico dove far rivivere il timbro ovattato di Hall, insieme a quel fraseggio essenziale ed allusivo che ad esempio alimenta i quattro standard rivisitati.
Le magnifiche composizioni di Hall sono state sviluppate da un quartetto ben coeso, che agisce nel nome di un vero interplay. Il concerto da cui è tratto il CD ha esaltato le capacità dialogiche di due maestri del ritmo quali Andy Watson e Dario Deidda, creativamente proiettati oltre il canonico ruolo di propulsione, peraltro sostenuto in maniera esemplare. Grazie anche alle particolari caratteristiche dei temi proposti, lo sviluppo musicale è aperto alla fervida tensione collettiva, che dà luogo ad interventi cristallini e misurati, nel loro icastico equilibrio.
