The Future Looks Bright
All About Jazz's Paul Reynolds interviewed Vera Brandes, the promoter behind Keith Jarrett's legendary Köln Concert and the subject of the new film Köln 75. Paul and Vera hit it off, and he was invited to moderate two Q&A sessions with the film's creative team following the screenings at the IFC Center this weekend. If you're interested in attending the film and post-screening discussions on October 17 or 18, click here. A link to Paul's Köln 75 review appears below.
We couldn't be more pleased with our new Coverage Request system. It was an ambitious undertaking that began over four months ago and has required some fine-tuning since its soft launch a couple of weeks back. The good news is that it's steadily improving, and we expect to officially sign off on it by the end of the month. From there, we'll move on to several modest projects before diving into our next large-scale effort: the Jazz Meetup Project.
This initiative builds on the Jazz Near You platform and its geolocation logic to act as a social connector for jazz fans seeking real-world experiences. Whether it's a listening session, a networking hang, drinks before a show, or an organized turnout for a jam session, Jazz Meetup will make it easier for fans to find one another and share their passion for jazz.
Jazz Meetup is another ambitious project with the potential to strengthen local jazz communities and bring people together from around the world. We believe it's an essential step in helping Jazz Near You reach its full potential. While we typically fund most of our initiatives internally, this one is particularly involvedit carries some risk, demands a significant investment of my time, and will take several months to complete. If you share our vision and believe in the power of jazz to connect people, we invite you to support this project. A contribution of $20 or more helps make Jazz Meetup possible and gives you an ad-free experience plus access to future articles and our venue finder.

AAJ @ 30
As All About Jazz celebrates its 30th year, we're entering one of the most exciting chapters in our history. Big changes are underway as we continue expanding our reach and transforming the platform for the betterment of jazz. To support this evolution, we're growing our team and our community, and we'll invite people like yourself to join us. We'll soon be looking for new contributors and collaborators, including writers, editors, photographers, musician page administrators, Jazz Near You administrators, a poll & survey coordinator, a contest giveaway manager, a Song of the Day curator, Meetup hosts and more. It's an exciting time to get involved, so stay tuned for opportunities to help shape the next era of All About Jazz. Now and the Near Future
