Eve Seltzer

Eve Seltzer's debut CD, Live at ShapeShifter Lab, showcases her interpretive abilities in communicating the story the within the song, and making standards fresh for audiences of all ages. Her singing is distinctive, blending polish and earthiness, and joyfully embracing the American jazz tradition. Eve started singing professionally at the age of eight, in the children's choruses of the St. Louis Symphony and the Opera Theatre of St. Louis. From age eight to age 20, she listened to jazz and blues recreationally, and sang classically. Eve majored in classical voice in the joint program between the New England Conservatory of Music and Tufts University, before moving to New York. Tobias Christl, DOB 1978, is a rarity, a singer the likes of which there never was before in German jazz. Neither a crooner nor a scatter, and least of all a pop musician disguised as a jazzer. Much more a storyteller, somewhere between indie and improvisation. A Berliner by choice, Christl is a vocal artist, a songwriter, improviser, speaker, composer, DJ and co-founder of the Cologne KLAENG collective. Lori Williams

Lori A. Williams (born January 22, 1967) is an American Jazz Vocalist from Washington, DC. She is the mother of two children (Lauren V. Highsmith and Yusef K. Chisholm). Lori has recorded two CDs (Healing Within - 2010 and Eclipse of the Soul - 2012).

Biographical sketch: Lori Williams continues to reside in the Washington Metropolitan area and teaches vocal music in the DC Public Schools System. She also teaches private vocal instruction, performs and records for various recording sessions as a solo artist and for other recording artists.

Education: Lori Williams attended Hampton University (HU) and received a BA in Mass Media Communications in 1988. She is a member of Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. At Hampton University, Lori pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (Gamma Iota Chapter) in 1986. After graduating from HU, Lori attended Trinity College and The University of the District of Columbia focusing on Music Education. Lori has received numerous awards recognizing her skills as a performer and educator. Her most notable recognition is a letter from Vice President Joseph Biden acknowledging her stellar performance at the 2013 Frederick Douglass Statue Dedication Ceremony at the US Capital. She has also received a Senate Citation from The Maryland General Assembly on behalf of Maryland State Senator Anthony Muse for her contributions and commitment to the arts as a jazz vocalist, instructor and educator. Also she received the 2007 Superintendent's Arts Teacher of the Year and the 2010 Vincent E. Reed Teacher of the Year.Career: As a high school student, Lori began her search for her musical style. It was at Hampton University where she discovered her passion for vocal jazz under the direction of Professors Dr. Effie Gardner and Robert Ransom. Lori was the Jazz Program Director for her college radio station, WHOV-FM and often performed in the Tidewater area for events. Lori also entered the Budweiser Showdown (winning 2nd place) and appeared on 'Showtime At The Apollo' during her tenure at HU. Lori Williams lived in Japan in the early 90's. It was there where she had the opportunity to record background vocals for commercial and artist sessions. She also directed the Sagamihara Gospel Choir and performed with Eli Saitoh and The Love Tambourines. Upon returning stateside, Lori has had the honor of performing with many national artists (studio session and live performance). She has recorded with The Blackbyrds, Sherry Winston, Maysa, Lloyd Price, Allyn Johnson and Divine Order, Saltman Knowles, and others. She also has performed in musical theatre productions in the Washington, DC area and Atlanta, GA. In 2010, Lori Williams released her debut CD - Healing Within. And in 2012, she released her sophomore project - Eclipse of the Soul. Lori continues to perform as a solo artist, recording session artist, and background vocalist for many international musicians (working with artists like Phil Perry, Terri Lynne Carrington, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Oleta Adams, Yolanda Adams and Vesta Williams). She also travels to Europe as a clinician and performs in jazz festivals in the US and abroad. JazzTimes calls her "a dynamic presence throughout, offering exquisite wordless vocals."

Holly Pyle

Born: June 21, 1987

After earning degrees in music and psychology from Northern Arizona University in 2010, Holly Pyle embarked on several genres of expression with jazz as a central foundation. Her vocal talent, described as a blend of "the smooth richness of Billie Holiday with the fluttering tones of Merrill Garbus" (Phoenix New Times), has led her to innovative work in vocal loop arranging and barrier-pushing songwriting. She regularly performs jazz across the West Coast with Dmitri Matheny and tours nationally with the folk rock group Live from Laurel Canyon. Recently, Holly expanded her creative pursuits by producing music-inspired abstract pen art and releasing an original solo alternative pop record under the name Elyp.
 

Fawn Fritzen

Born: November 19

When Fawn entered kindergarten in Thunder Bay, Ontario, she barely spoke a word of English. The next year started French Immersion. She has since lived and performed all over the country, including all three of Canada’s northern territories. She embodies Canada’s diversity with her mixed cultural roots of Chinese, French, and German, singing in her three ancestral languages as well as English. Raised on folk, classical, and musical theatre, Fawn was a latecomer to jazz, but the bug bit her hard, and she quickly garnered accolades. Tim Tamashiro (former host of CBC Radio's national jazz program Tonic) named Fawn “one of Canada’s top swingers”

In 2006 she took her first high-dive into songwriting and mid-air knew she was ready to write and sing her own songs. Talent America's 2001 Performer of the Year BRIAN De LORENZO is equally at home in night clubs, concert halls, and theatres. He has performed in such places as Israel, Wales, Spain, Scotland, Italy, and England, as well as cruise ships in Alaska, the Mediterranean, and crossing the Atlantic. He has sung at clubs such as The Iridium, Birdland, 54 Below, Don't Tell Mama, and Eighty-Eight's in New York; Piaf's in San Francisco; Odette's in New Hope, PA; and at various venues in Massachusetts including Scullers Jazz Club, Club Cafe, and The Crown & Anchor.

Brian earned the title Performer of the Year by winning first place at Talent America's 27th Annual "Talent of the Year Awards" in New York, competing with performers from all over the US.

Brian's debut recording Found Treasures was nominated for the "Recording of the Year Award" by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC)

Russwin Francisco

Born: April 4, 1966

Russwin Francisco is an accomplished jazz vocalist, he has performed at prominent DC venues and regional festivals, and previously co-founded and co-owned Black Fox Lounge, a jazz venue respected for its live music programming. He is a seasoned actor, singer, and producer with more than 30 years of performance experience across stage, film, and live music. He produced and appeared as Manny in The Girl Who Left Home, a musical film that won Best Picture at the 2021 DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival, and was an accredited investor in the Broadway production Here Lies Love.
