Vocalist Maggie Green’s self-titled album of Brazilian music conveys a longing for the endless beaches and samba rhythms of Rio de Janeiro. With her soft yet rhythmic interpretations of bossa nova and samba, sung in masterful Portuguese, the brilliant waters seem but a heartbeat away. This may sound like a stretch for a girl who grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, but for Maggie, it was just a natural progression. During her early years, Maggie sat at the piano and studied the complex harmonies and melodies of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. Lori Fredrics

Born: November 23, 1965

Born in New York City, soprano / educator Lori Joachim Fredrics is presently expanding her career from the opera house and concert hall into the area of vocal jazz. Lori is, indeed, a rare breed among operatic soprano/mezzo-sopranos, as she is equally at home singing avant garde new music, 'legit' musical theatre, standard and scat-style jazz, as well as pop- style background vocals.She is known for her rich vocal tone, expressive interpretation, precise intonation, accurate musicianship and incredibly clear diction in four languages. She is a knowledgeable exponent of art song repertoire, specializing in the works of Schumann, Mahler, Ravel, and Faure as well as works by contemporary American composers, including those by her husband, Howard Fredrics. She also regularly performs jazz standards including Strayhorn/Ellington Classics, Gershwin, Weil, modern jazz compositions and well known virtuostic vocalese favorites such as "Twisted" by Annie Ross, "The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines" first heard on Joni Michell's Mingus Album and her own version of "Moody's Mood for Love". Lori has performed as a backing vocalist for bands and songwriters since the very beginning of her career, most recently, she recorded as a guest vocalist on "Simple" a track on Madding Crowd's new CD single entitled" Modern Man". As a University instructor of voice and private coach to many professional singers, Lori has been a mentor to performers on both sides of the atlantic. Lori has sung at international level opera houses and has appeared on stage with Sam Ramey, Catherine Malfitano, Ramon Vargas, Joyce Di Donato, Anna Maria Martinez and has sung under the baton of Robert Spano, Patrick Summers and Roberto Abbado among others. Roles performed include Octavian in" Der Rosenkavalier" , Cherubino in "The Marriage of Figaro" and Maria in "The Sound of Music". Lori made her London stage directing debut in "The Whitechapel Whirwind" at the Bloomsbury Theatre in 2004. Growing up listening to music; country to Bach, Sandy was enamored with Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horn and Blossom Dearie. In her teens Sandy was crazy for Doris Day and Shirley Bassey, then Cleo Lane. In her twenties, her sister Loretta, convinced her to sing professionally and her career was on it's way!! Sandy studied with some of the best teachers in the Delaware Valley, including voice and stage presence under the watchful eye of Bucky Harris and voice with Lenny Payton, former music coordinator on several New York based television shows. After working the circuit for eight years, including radio and TV, Sandy left the music business to raise her family, never thinking to sing, professionally, again

Elisa Caleb

Born: March 17, 1981

Elisa began working with the Jo Caleb trio in 2000, booking them into various venues and clubs primarily as a manager and agent. Her exposure to the Jazz Scene, however, took a new turn in the summer of 2005 when prompted to perform jazz professionally rather than merely enjoying it as a listener. Since then she has already performed in Paris, Moscow, at numerous venues across London and has shared the stage with such artists as Tony Kofi, Seb Rochford, Jo Caleb, Soweto Kinch, Guy Barker, Mike Outram, Julian Siegel, Phil Robson, Troy Miller, Mike Gorman, Mornington Lockett, Gary Husband, Mike Mondesir, Jim Mullen, Gareth Lockrane and Stan Sulzmann. Elisa now performs regularly around the UK and also hosts a high-profile jam session in West London.
