Vibe Normann Clausen

Born: August 18, 1973

Born and raised in Denmark, Vibe Clausen received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University in Copenhagen. Vibe first trained to be a classical- and chamber choir singer with masters Bonna Soendberg, Hanne Stavad and Sharla Nafziger. As a classical singer she worked with chamber choirs such as Euphonia, Lille MUKO and Tivoli's concert Choir, Bronshoj Kirke's and Vor Frelser's Kirke's choirs with whom she toured extensively and also participated in several Radio Transmissions, Festivals and CD recordings. Since 2002 Vibe has resided in New York City where she began to work more and more within the Jazz tradition

When I was about 9 years old I started singing with children's choir De Zonnepitten in Schijndel, the Netherlands, and I've been singing on stage ever since; in musicals, jazz-bands and choirs. At the age of 15 I fell in love with jazz music and when I was studying Educational Sciences in Utrecht I was able to develop my passion in the most enthusiastic vocal group of the Netherlands: Dekoor close harmony (chosen as best choir in Holland in 2007 on television program Korenslag). Later on I started having singing lessons with the wonderful jazz singer Denise Jannah. After moving to Luxembourg in 1994, I was active in the theatre group Pirates Productions and in the choir Voices International

Music and singing has always been a part of her for as long as she can remember. Gina was exposed to all kinds of music at a tender age and was active in choirs, solo performances and drama/musical theater productions in school. Although she has a degree in business, she chose her passion and started doing Top 40’s and popular songs to earn a living but was listening to Jazz, blues, gospel and broadway music during her spare time.
