Mews Small
Mews’s professional career began as a teenager in New York City. Dustin Hoffman, not yet famous, gave Mews her first role, acting and singing in a play he was directing. She went on to act in many leading roles in resident theatres all over the East Coast. In 1966, Maria von Trapp came to Mews’s (then Mary Small Rusk) opening night as the lead in The Sound of Music. At the end of the show, there was a standing ovation and Mrs. Trapp stood up, hugged Mews, and said, “I have seen many Marias, but tonight it was I. There couldn't be a better Maria.” She then invited Mews to perform with her at the Montreal World’s Fair, where Mews stunned the crowed of 20, 000. Mews eventually landed the role of ‘Frenchy’ in the original Broadway show Grease, and later played the same role opposite John Travolta at the Schubert in Los Angeles. Mews had a lot of fun playing the New York City night club circuit and performed many concerts on the East coast before coming to Hollywood with Woody Allen’s film Sleeper. Johanna Grussner
Mrs Grüssner was born in The Åland Islands, Finland 1972. She was a scholarship student at Berklee College of music in Boston where she gratuated 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education. She produced her first CD ”Johanna Grüssner Band” 1995. Mrs Grüssner moved straight to New York City where she continued her musical studies at Manhattan School of Music and graduated in 1998 with a Master’s degree in jazz performance. That same Spring she released her second album ”Live at Hubbard Hall” with her own 19-piece big band ”The Johanna Grüssner Manhattan Jazz Orchestra”
