Deelee Dube

Deelee Dube (/'diːliː 'duːbɛ/), born Sithandile Agatha Dube on January 15, is a British vocalist, songwriter, and musician of Southern African lineage.

On November 20th, 2016, Dube became the first British winner and recipient of a Sassy Award at the 5th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition hosted by Rhonda Hamilton and held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, which landed her a Concord Records contract and a chance to appear at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Onstage she was accompanied by a trio consisting of Sergio Salvatore (piano and musical director), Lisle Atkinson (bass), and Buddy Williams (drums). The panel judges included Sheila Jordan, Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Sheila E. Anderson, and Mark Ruffin. While in Newark, Deelee attended rehearsals and was greeted by co-producer of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Carl Griffin. This was followed by an interview with former WBGO radio broadcaster Nicole Sweeney before her triumph in the Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition at the NJPAC, where she also met and befriended Dorthaan Kirk and Linda Moody (wife of the late jazz saxophonist James Moody) as part of the TD James Moody Jazz Festival held at the NJPAC. Dube was presented with the Sassy award by NJPAC President & CEO John Schreiber (formerly Sarah Vaughan's road manager) and signed to Concord Jazz via Mark Wexler (former Chief Operating Officer at the Concord Label Group).

Marshall Bilodeau

Born: May 5, 1979

Marshall Bilodeau has played drumset for 25 years, studied jazz and classical percussion for many years including at Central Washington University where he recieved his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree (2005). He is a Washington Statecertified music teacher, has played in big bands and smallensembles around the Pacific Northwest and has been a jazzeducator since 1998. A past member of the Seattle JazzSingers and faculty at the Seattle Jazz Night School. He currently plays with the Ellensburg Big Band, teaches privately and has toured the US, Canada and New Zealand in recent years. 

Lauren Bush

Born: May 12, 1986

Known for her charming delivery of a lyric and her impeccable time, 2016 Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition finalist, Lauren Bush is a contemporary Canadian jazz vocalist based in London, UK. All About Jazz noted that "Bush is one of the freshest and most exciting vocalists to appear on the scene for some time." and Downbeat Magazine commented on "her unique phrasing, perfect diction and scatting abilities." Her 2016 debut album, All My Treasures, comprised of 12 carefully selected, favourite jazz standards, was produced by jazz luminary Ian Shaw and met with critical acclaim

Fleur Stevenson

A familiar face on the London jazz scene, Fleur Stevenson is gifted with a honeyed tone, an offbeat sense of humour and a naturally charismatic stage presence. Fleur creates an instant rapport with her audience through sparkling narrative and an unerring instinct for choosing the right material to showcase her talent.

Her phrasing, use of space and improvisational ability nod to obvious influences from the greats such as Shirley Horn and Anita O’Day but Fleur is carving a niche all of her own with her surprising yet stylish interpretations of jazz standards and her tender, heartfelt delivery of romantic ballads.

Eldafyre

Born: September 5, 1985

Eldafyre grew up in Shepparton, Victoria. His early 20’s were spent in the city of Melbourne. Now 38 he resides within the northern rivers of NSW or hidden in the mountains around Hepburn. His first official album was created in 2016. A dark jazz, smokey noir feeling with influences to the likes of Patti smith and Rodriguez. I was witness as a little girl to the Beatle's invasion of America. Thank you God for my being born at that time. I often wonder what it is like for people who missed the phenomenon. Music was a big part of my formative years. My Parents were both very talented Lindy dancers, so we grew up listening to Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, and of course, Frank. On many a magical Saturday evening I watched my Parents gliding out to their dance, my Mother’s Emeraude lingering ever so gently. Maria Jacobs

Born: June 27, 1968

Maria Jacobs is an American Jazz vocalist, singer/songwriter and author. She is the Adjunct Professor of Applied Vocal Jazz at Kent State University. Born of Syrian Lebanese and Armenian descent, Maria was raised in Cleveland, Ohio where she frequently shared the bandstand with her father Mike Jacobs, a drummer and singer in the area. She is a national voice over artist and a Traditional/Smooth Jazz recording artist who has charted on the Groove Jazz and Smooth Jazz Global Holiday Charts. Maria became a licensed music educator following the completion of her second degree in music education from Kent State Universiy and began working as a Principal Conductor and Curriculum Advisor for The Open Tone Music Academy, who now partners with Jazz At Lincoln Center

Claudia Vorbach

Claudia Vorbach is a singer-songwriter and jazz vocalist from Tübingen, Southern Germany. Her music blends jazz, folk, and blues, creating a unique sound that reflects her diverse influences. Claudia grew up in a musical home surrounded by jazz and classical music. She took piano lessons early on and later taught herself to play the guitar. Her vocal development was guided by various teachers, most notably jazz vocalist Freddy Wilkes and Fola Dada, both based in Germany.
