Ysanne Spevack

Born: June 24, 1972

Violinist, string arranger and composer Ysanne Spevack is London-born and Los Angeles-based. Her string arrangements encompass a wide musical terrain spanning jazz, soundtrack, rock, pop and electronica. Clients include the Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, Elton John, Brett Anderson (Suede), Tiesto, Dub Gabriel feat. Michael Stipe, Sister Bliss (Faithless), Asian Dub Foundation, Chocolate Genius, Alex Parks, T-Power, MJ Cole, and The Sopranos title track composers, Alabama 3. Born in Cuba on February 6, 1954, Alfredo De La Fé began his musical studies at the fresh young age of six, and by the age of eight, was given a scholarship to study at the world-renowned Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Warsaw Conservatory) in Poland. He then later continued his education at the Julliard School of Music in New York City. Carlos Z. has performed with a wide variety of improvising musicians and composers, including: Barre Phillips, Daunik Lazro, Derek Bailey, Joëlle Léandre, Jon Rose, Peter Kowald, John Butcher, Mark Dresser, John Zorn, Roger Turner, Hans Reichel, Dominique Regef, Evan Parker, Günter Müller, Mats Gustafsson, Agusti Fernandez, Paul Lovens, etc.. Steven Vance

Swinging stylist started his jazz ed at the University of Pittsburgh through the annual Jazz Seminar where he met Cellist and educator David Baker. Since then he has been playing gigs in various Jazz and other styles for all types of events. Recently, Steven formed the Extreme String Orchestra youth program to teach young string players the joys of playing Jazz, Rock, Fiddling, and Electronic Instruments.

Harry Scorzo studied violin and composition at East Los Angeles College, Immaculate Heart College Conservatory, and privately with Mary Ann Ringold and master teacher Noumi Fischer. He has over thirty years of professional experience and is currently a professional violinist in the Los Angeles area, as well as a composer/arranger and teacher. His violin solos can be heard in the recordings of “Bongo Logic” (Rycodisk, Rhythm Safari, and Montuno Records) as well as in the motion picture soundtracks to “Envy”, “Rushmore”, “Rocky and Bullwinkle”, “Welcome To Collinwood” and "You Kill Me"

Alexander Balanescu

Alexander Balanescu, violinist, composer and visual artist was born in Romania, raised in Israel and studied violin at London’s Trinity College of Music and the Julliard school in New York. He returned to London where he worked and cooperated with many of the major contemporary music groups. With his Balanescu Quartet he has acquired a reputation as one of the world’s leading contemporary artist. His quartet has commissioned over 25 works to date beginning with Michael Nyman, Gavin Bryars, Kevin Volans and Balanescu himself, before going on to include the non-classical writers John Lurie, David Byrne, Keith Tippett, Carla Bley, Rabih Abou Khalil, Michael Nyman, Gavin Bryars, Ornette Coleman, Peter Greenaway, David Byrne, the Pet Shop Boys, Spiritualized, Kate Bush and Kraftwerk. Collaborations as a composer/performer include in dance with Merryl Tankard, Pina Bausch, Rosemary Lee, Suzy Blok, Johann Ulrich, Phillipe Saire and Virgilio Sieni and in Theatre Productions at Theatre de la Place, Liege, Belgrade State Theatre, Cabaret Dromesko, Rennes, and Watford Palace Theatre. Thanks you for taking the time to read my profile. Making music has been one of the great joys and journeys of my life - from Classical to Celtic to Bluegrass and finally into the world of Jazz. I have always loved the melodic sound of violin, guitars and double bass since my father took me a concert of the great French jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli when I was 12 years old and my journey began. Combine lovely melodies with improvisational opportunity and I am in heaven! It is my privilege to perform with three wonderful virtuostic musicians and it is always a pleasure sharing the stage with them.
