Peter Appleyard
Born:
Peter Appleyard, OC was a British–born Canadian jazz vibraphonist, percussionist, and composer. He spent most of his life living and performing in the city of Toronto where for many years he was a popular performer in the city's nightclubs and hotels. He also played and recorded with many of the city's orchestras and been featured on Canadian television and radio programs. In the early 1970s he drew wide acclaim for his performances with Benny Goodman's jazz sextet with which he toured internationally. In 1992, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in recognition of his being an "internationally renowned vibraphonist [who] has represented the Canadian jazz community across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Australia"

Tony Miceli
Born:
Vibraphonist Tony Miceli, whose playing has been compared with the legendary Milt Jackson and Gary Burton, grew up in New Jersey, currently resides in Philadelphia, and has been working steadily on the jazz scene since 1980. As a group leader, sideman, and recording artist, he has performed with numerous top musicians including David Liebman, Jimmy Bruno, Ken Peplowski, John Blake, Diane Monroe, John Swana, Joe Magnarelli, Steve Slagle, Larry McKenna, and many others. In addition to his work with the group Monkadelphia, which he co-founded in 1990, Miceli is a member of the PhilOrch Jazz Ensemble (a quartet featuring members of the Philadelphia Orchestra) and the Adam Unsworth Ensemble. His recordings include a compilation CD, Looking East with the Philly 5; On a Sweet Note, with Gerald Veasley and the Electric Mingus Project; Band Shapes with French pianist Olivier Hutman; Monkadelphia; Crepuscule (featuring Monkadelphia); Music From the Inside Out, a companion CD for a documentary showcasing the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Kevin Hart is a jazz vibraphonist, pianist and drummer from Central Illinois. His stylistically eclectic The Road to Everywhere was chosen as a 2005 recommended release by Laura Kennedy from WGLT who says, “Kevin Hart is a masterful musician—a generous artist with style, class and a forever sense of fun. A twenty-five year veteran of the Canadian jazz scene, Arnold has a lot of CBC Radio work under his belt on Morningside and Jazz Beat, playing with Don Thompson and Terry Clarke. He has performed at most major Canadian jazz festivals with his own groups, and is a Yamaha jazz clinician and award-winning composer. Arnold is also a Berklee College of Music alumnus and former student of Gary Burton and David Samuels.

Dan McCarthy is a Canadian jazz vibraphonist based in Toronto. After graduating top of his class from the prestigious jazz program at Humber College, Dan quickly made a name for himself on the Toronto jazz scene, performing with such notable Canadian artists as Ted Warren, Pat Collins, Peter Appleyard, Ted Quinlan, Lorne Lofsky, Terry Clarke, Brandi Disterheft, Laila Biali, and Don Thompson. Moving to New York City in 2004 brought many more opportunities for Dan, giving him the chance to play and record with some of the top jazz musicians in the world, such as Steve Swallow, Ben Monder, Mark Feldman, George Garzone, Myron Walden, Rudy Royston, Thomas Morgan, Mark Shim, Ari Hoenig, and Gerald Cleaver. In March of 2019, Dan returned to Toronto permanently to pursue a Master in Jazz Composition at York University on a full fellowship. Kym Ambrose

Kym's prpofessional career began at 16 when he started playing vibes. He'd already been playing drums with his father's jazz ensemble for a few years before this. After studying with Jim Bailey in Adelaide, Kym moved to Sydney in the early 80's to undertake a Diploma in Jazz at the N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music, with teachers such as the legendary Don Burrows. Kym's work on kit and vibes continued predominantly in the jazz and blues scene, backing international artists in between doing resident gigs at clubs throughout Sydney in the 80's and early 90's. His passion for, and focus on, the vibraphone deepened when he moved to the less manic city of Brisbane, and met his now wife Anje West, with whom he founded The View From Madeleine's Couch, considered one of Australia's best, and certainly most distinctive Brazilian music ensembles. His first trip to Brazil took place in 2004, where he studied under the great pianist/composer/arranger Alberto Farah, who was a huge influence on Kym's composing and arranging style
