Amik Guerra

Amik Guerra Lig-Long was born on May 11, 1973 in Havana, Cuba, where he also grew up and finished successfully his studies Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Arte”. Amik Guerra has made his reputation with a combination of skill in trumpet, percussion an arrangement. After leaving Cuba 1994 he worked and traveled from Italy, Torino. 2005 he left Italy and moved to Switzerland, Zurich and now he is living in the Principality of Liechtenstein and still traveling all the world. He is among the most prominent jazz trumpeter of the modern era in Europe, and a very well-known instrumentalist in latin music.

James Davis is an active Chicago trumpet player, composer and music educator. James has toured and recorded with many musically diverse projects including his own Quintet, Beveled, Zing!, Matt Ulery, Grazyna Auguscik, Julie Meckler, Karl Schwonik and others. Along with leading his own ensembles he also regularly plays with other groups including Balkano, the Ian Torres Big Band, The Chicago Skyliners Big Band, The Great Postmodern Nightmare Big Band, The Gentle Giant Quintet, and the Jason Steele Quartet. Davis has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Grammy nominated One O’Clock Lab Band, where he was frequently featured as a soloist. He received his Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of North Texas and Undergraduate Music Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington

eter Evans is a trumpet player and composer based in New York City since 2003. Evans is part of a broad, hybridized scene of musical experimentation and his work cuts across a wide range of modern musical practices and traditions. Peter is committed to the simultaneously self-determining and collaborative nature of musical improvisation as a compositional tool, and works with an ever-expanding group of musicians and composers in the creation of new music. His primary groups as a leader are the Peter Evans Ensemble and Being & Becoming (with Joel Ross, Nick Jozwiak and Savannah Harris). Shamarr Allen

Shamarr Allen Shamarr Allen was born in the birthplace of Jazz, -- New Orleans, Louisiana --and became immersed in music at the early age of 7. His father a saxophonist by hobby became his first music teacher. Shamarr played in both the concert and marching bands all through school and always served as his section leader. As a teenager he attended the Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp where he studied under the tutelage of Jazz educators Edward “Kidd” Jordan, Clyde Kerr Jr., Herlin Riley and the late Alvin Batiste. At age 13, Shamarr was invited to play with the Pittsburg University Orchestra and at 16 appeared at Carnegie Hall with the Mahogany Brass Band. He began his professional career as a street musician in the French Quarter playing with Tuba Fats

Roy Sunak

Born:

Roy Sunak, trumpet player and composer, was born in Israel in 1978. At the age 10 he started to play keyboard and at the age 12 he started playing the trumpet in Yehud conservatory. Roy graduated at the Thelma Yellin School for arts in jazz faculty. When he finished high school he was selected to service in the IDF military band, and was requested to service his last half year as leader and soloist in the Air Force band. In 1998 he won the America-Israel cultural foundation award. He continued his musical studies at Rimon College supported with full scholarship and represent Israel at the Costa Rica International Jazz Festival for Music Colleges. That passion is evident in his new release In Joy, which was produced by Bob Baldwin, and James Lloyd from Pieces of a Dream and features Chuck Loeb. On Stage Gordon has appeared with or opened for such artists as Roy Ayres, Angela Bofill, Bobby Caldwell, Alex Bugnon, Pieces of a Dream, Chuck Loeb, Cassandra Wilson and others - The band has worked such venues as The Newark Jazz Festival, Asbury Park Jazz Fest, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Bethlehem Musikfest, Red Bank Jazz In The Park, Red Bank Jazz & Blues Festival, The Original Cool Cruise and has also appeared on the NJ Network and done shows for Suburban, Monmouth and Comcast Cablevisions. Josh Deutsch

Trumpeter/Composer Josh Deutsch has established himself as a versatile and unique voice in New York’s music scene. Equally comfortable as a leader and sideman, Deutsch has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Canada and Asia. Deutsch leads the band Pannonia, whose forthcoming album “Another Time, Another Place” will be released in 2013, and who can be heard performing regularly in and around New York. His duo project with guitarist Nico Soffiato has toured extensively in Italy and the U.S., and their debut CD “Time Gels” received high praise. Matthew Warnock of Guitar International calls Time Gels “an elegant, fresh take on the timeless (duo) tradition”, noting that “these two musicians perform as a cohesive unit, with improvisational vigor and mature musicianship.” Deutsch and Soffiato host the 2x3 series, which presents a diverse range of duos that perform and collaborate together. Deutsch can be heard with Argentinian singer/composer Sofia Rei, the Australian soul/funk band The Hipstones, and Nathan Parker Smith’s Large Ensemble
