Dr. Adrian Ruiz serves as the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Courses taught at UTSA include: Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, History and Styles of Jazz, and Private Jazz Improvisation. Dr. Ruiz is active as a freelance trumpeter, performing regularly throughout the state of Texas. He has performed internationally at the Montreux, North Sea, and Taichung Jazz Festivals. Fred Adams

Fred Adams is an inspiring composer who discovered the creative, artistic form of compositional writing at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, where he studied trumpet and piano.

Fred is most noted for his thirty year association with the Sun Ra Arkestra and has toured throughout the world as a longstanding member. Sun Ra encouraged Fred to lead his own band and he later founded the Philadelphia Heritage Art Ensemble. It started out as vehicle to present late Philadelphia composers (Hank Mobley and Lee Morgan), along with original compositions through a residency at the Mill Creek Cultural Center

Senova Ulker

Şenova Ülker started his education in trumpet at the Ankara State Conservatory in 1969 and completed it upon his graduation with honors from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1979. The same year, he auditioned for the Istanbul State Symphony and started to work as the first trumpetist. He currently holds the duty as the principal trumpetist. Born in Portland, Oregon, Andrew started playing piano at the age of five. At the age of 12 his musical talents were recognized by the leadership at his church and he was encouraged to play trumpet in the church band. After many musical recognitions and an opportunity to perform with Mercer Ellington in high school he went on to attend the University of Oregon to study Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies . Trumpeter and vocalist Karl Charity, began his music career performing in musicals across the West End, Karl Charity has since supported a number of leading Jazz events including Roux at Parliament Square, Stompin On the Quomps and a sell-out performance at the Colour House Theatre. Born: May 22, 1975

Joel Behrman started playing trumpet and trombone at age 9. He grew up in a suburb of St. Louis, a city that has a great legacy of jazz and blues music and musicians. At 18 he moved to Miami and studied with local musicians like Ira Sullivan, Barry Reis and with the talented faculty at the University of Miami. In 1996, while in the middle of his education, he began a tour with K.C. and the Sunshine Band. After five years of juggling college, a teaching assistantship and touring, Joel decided to reconnect with his jazz roots and move to San Francisco. John Harrington jazz

Born: June 23, 1970

A mainstay on the California music scene, John Harrington has been performing, recording, and touring professionally for the past 15 years. Starting at the age of 9, Mr. Harrington has continued his pursuit of music through a wide array of styles and groups. After his debut jazz album (Love's Divine), 3 years of touring in his funk, Brazilian samba band Delta Nove, and musical director at the Commonwealth Lounge; John has returned to the studio to continue refining his skills as a trumpet player, leader, and composer. Josiel Perez Hernandez

Born: October 9, 1986

Born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba on October 9, 1986, Josiel comes from an extensive musical family, beginning with his grandfather who is a refined flautist to his uncle Andres Perez who is considered one of the best baritone saxophonists in Cuba.

Josiel began his formal musical studies at the fresh young age of 9, in the Elementary School of Art, where he studied trumpet, piano and composition.

After graduating, Josiel continued onto the reputable and highly acclaimed “National School of Art” (ENA) in Havana Cuba for four years, and then on to the Institute of Superior Art (ISA) for four years.
