John Yao

For almost twenty years, John Yao has been honing his talents as a trombonist, composer and arranger, and cementing his place on the New York City jazz scene. Yao’s lyrical soloing and expressive, round tone, combined with his relentless drive to push the boundaries of harmony and rhythm, have established him as a unique and forward-thinking jazz talent. Yao has earned wide acclaim. In April 2025 he was appointed to the 100th class of Guggenheim Fellows in the field of Music Composition. In 2023, Yao earned a place in both the Rising Star Trombone and Rising Star Big Band categories in the DownBeat Critics Poll. Lucid Culture proclaims, “John Yao is one of New York’s elite trombonists,” and All About Jazz calls him “a strong compositional voice and effective band-leader able to use his 17-piece band to paint across a wide spectrum and infuse his complex writing with a thoughtful balance of audacity, structure, humor, and sonic might.”

Jeff Galindo

Jazz Musician and Educator Born in San Francisco, California, Jeff Galindo attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts on scholarship after high school. He also studied with Hal Crook, Jerry Bergonzi, and George Garzone with grants by the National Endowment of the Arts and began free-lancing in the Boston area. His experience includes tours of Europe with Phil Woods and Japan with Makoto Ozone, and tours with the Artie Shaw Orchestra. Jeff has performed with such notables as Chick Corea, Clark Terry, Joe Lovano, Buddy DeFranco, Slide Hampton, and Johnny Griffin. He has also performed with Gunther Schuller, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Jerry Bergonzi, Bobby Shew, The Boston Pops Orchestra, and Sam Butera among many others

Earl McIntyre

Born in Brooklyn N.Y., Earl received his first musical training from his father (a very gifted amateur musician) who saw to it that the entire family became proficient at playing brass instruments. While attending the High School of Music & Art, he studied trombone with John Clark, Jack Jeffers, Alan Raph and Benny Powell. At age seven, struck with an overwhelming curiosity in his father’s trombone, young Mason soon switched his focus from the trumpet. Barry Mosley

Mosley's first Jazz influence at age twelve was listening to a Chet Baker recording. Many years later was invited by Chet to sit in with him several times in the mid 1980's, which was a great musical thrill. Other strong influences include valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer who inspired him to play valve trombone, and the early works of Miles Davis.
His Cool Jazz Trio and sometimes Quartet have performed at many of the best Jazz clubs in Los Angeles including Spazio's, The Hip Kitty, Jax Bar & Grill, Vitello's, The Left Coast Wine Bar and more. We have also preformed for many private parties and events in the Los Angeles area.
Currently both CD's Jazz Time and Speak Softly have received repeated radio air play in the USA and Europe, and we have had thousands of youtube hits from our Los Angeles performances
