Tom van der Zaal

orn and raised in The Hague – The Netherlands 1987, Tom was brought up in a musical family with his dad being an alto saxophone player. He has won several prestigious awards such as the Princes Christina Concours, Melkweg Jazz Award and most recent the Sena Jazz Award. In the last semester of his masters, Tom went to New York to study with greats like Aaron Goldberg and Greg Hutchinson. Over the years Tom shared stages with names like: Greg Hutchinson, Peter Erskine, Peter Bernstein, Joe Farnsworth, Reuben Rogers, Slide Hampton, James Carter, Philip Harper, Peter Beets, Rob van Bavel, Vincent Herring, John Ruocco to name a few and recorded as a sideman on the debut album of Floriaan Wempe featuring Willie Jones III.

Van der Zaal played in leading international venues like: Smalls (New York), Alexandrinsky Theatre (Saint Petersburg), Esse Jazzclub (Moscow), The Hat Bar (Berlin), A Trane (Berlin), Casa del Jazz (Rome), Warsaw Summer Jazz Fest (Warsaw), The North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague Jazz Festival, The Bimhuis, Concertgebouw Amsterdam among others.



Modern jazz group SIMIO's members are young, yet tell an ever-changing story with virtuosity and maturity. The music is melodic and lyrical, sitting on the edge between improvisation and composition. With a cinematic experience, the audience sits in close during our performance; “I got carried away in a flow I didn’t want to get out of”. After the release of their debut EP Delusional, which got picked up very fast by national radio programs, producers, fellow musicians, record labels and magazines a.o in the US, their second EP A New Path shows their growth. Playing style has developed aswel as vision, which affects composition.


Rein Godefroy

Rein Godefroy (Breda, 1982) was raised in a family filled with classical musicians. It was no surprise that he started to play the piano when he was four. After four years of playing and studying classical piano, Rein got more interested in the jazz genre. After two years of intensive jazz piano lessons with pianist John Reyna, he was accepted at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. There he studied with pianists Rob van Bavel and Juraj Stanik. In 2006 he received his masters degree and graduated with distinction. Since his graduation Rein played with numerous exiting but very diffent groups like Fullduplexx and the Paul van Kemenade Quintet and he recorded several albums which al got fantastic reviews. Inspirited by those groups and recordings Rein decided to form his own trio in 2016

Udo Pannekeet

Bass player Udo Pannekeet graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. During his education he was part of the trio Isotope. In 2002 he started his own quintet Pitch Pine Project, featuring Martijn van Iterson, Tom Beek, Chris Strik en Rob van Bavel. The group got a lot of critical acclaim in the Netherlands as well as outside of it. Pitch Pine Project played at the North Sea Jazz Fetival twice, and in 2008 even performed with famous trumpet player Randy Brecker as a guest soloist. Afterwards Udo became a member of the Tim Langedijk Trio, featuring Hans van Oosterhout on the drums. He has been with them for over eight years now and they’ve released four CD’s, pianist Jasper van t’ Hof collaborating on the CD “November.” In 2014 'On' was released, a quartet record with Udo's own compositions. Currently Udo is the bassplayer for the legendary dutch band FOCUS since 2016. As a mixing engineer/producer Udo did the mix for Till Bronner's record 'The Good Life". In 2019 his latest solo-record 'Electric Regions' was released.


Bob Wijnen

Bob Wijnen is a pianist of great sensitivity and depth. Much in demand as an accompanist, he is known for having some of the best ears around, as well as being an elegant and adventurous soloist who has absorbed a great deal of the history of jazz piano. He has toured Indonesia (Java Jazz Festival), Michigan USA, and Iceland, and can be heard on CDs by Maygus (Double Moon Records), Sanna van Vliet – Insight (Munich Records), Klemens Marktl Quartet featuring Jasper Blom – The Challenge (Jazz’n’Arts), Triplicate featuring Eric Ineke and Equinox with Dutch jazz giants Sjoerd Dijkhuizen and Marcel Serierse. Wijnen continues to grow as a pianist


Ludmil Krumov

Ludmil Krumov is a Bulgarian guitarist specializing in contemporary jazz and world fusion. His guitar style incorporates wide diversity of techniques such as sweep and alternate picking , rich articulation and dynamic phrasing. Technically fluent, he uses the entire neck of the instrument to play lines involving horizontal and vertical melodic approach, wide intervals and modal diversity in a virtuoso way without compromising musicality. His improvisations incorporate the language of bebop, modern jazz and blues spiced up with eastern European and Balkan ornamentation and complex additive rhythms

Caspar van Wijk

Caspar van Wijk studied at the conservatories of Rotterdam and Amsterdam, with Simon Rigter, Ferdinand Povel and Jasper Blom. During that time he also studied abroad (Philadelphia, New York) with Dick Oatts and John Swana, among others. He graduated in 2011, summa cum laude, from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Caspar lives in The Hague, where he performs with the Van Wijk/Derudder Quartet, together with pianist Alex Koo Derudder. He is also a popular sideman in a variety of formations. Caspar is a member of the Dutch Concert Big Band and performs regularly with other orchestras, including the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw
