Johannes Gammelgaard Lauritsen

Johannes Gammelgaard Lauritsen was born in Aalborg, Denmark, and grew up in a home with piano, a guitar and several flutes. He showed interest in music early on and started playing the saxophone at age 10. In 3rd grade he joined the school bigband with which he travelled to play in Germany and twice in the USA. This made a great impact on him, and he decided to continue his music studies.
In 10th grade he attended a boarding school focusing solely on music. Here he initiated his first jazz quartet with which he played for several years and won a number of music competitions for young bands in Denmark

Scarlett and Bob Finney

Scarlett has been singing ever since she can remember. She got her start singing in local clubs in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri while still a teenager. Her first paying gig was at The Continental, one of the city's then upscale lounges. She was stunned when the manager put $35 in her hand for doing something she enjoyed so much.
Since moving to California, Scarlett has performed with the the Dr. Bob Finney Jazz Combo in numerous venues to standing room only crowds at the Gardenia Restaurant and Lounge, Lunaria Restaurant and Jazz Club, the Sky Room atop the Breaker's Hotel, the Long Beach Museum of Art, Rancho Los Cerritos, the Museum of Latin American Art, Duke's Place at the Balboa Bay Club, the Four Olives Restaurant, the Ristorante da Vinci, and the Madison Restaurant

Muhammad Dawjee

Born:
Muhammad was born and raised Pretoria, South Africa. He was never formally educated in music, but grew up surrounded by it - in the Malay choral Gadaat recitals his grandfather used to host on Sundays and tinkering at the piano his grandmother bought for his elder sisters (who were already taking lessons when he was born). Muhammad was selected as a member of the Standard Bank National Schools’ Big Band for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 at the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Festival, Grahamstown. The 2008 band, conducted by Shannon Mowday also performed at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in Johannesburg. In 2009 he was selected alongside tertiary music students (Sisonke Xonti and others) and local and international professional muscians such as Shannon Mowday, Mike Rossi, Frank Brodahl (Norway) & Arne Hiorth (Norway) to perform as a part of the North Sea Big Band, curated and conducted by Arne Hiorth. Chris Gale is a Toronto-based saxophonist, composer, producer and educator whose driving style and rich tone can be heard on hundreds of recordings. As leader and a sideman, Gale has performed around the globe in theatres, clubs and at festivals, impressing crowds with his lyrical sensibility and soulful approach. Gale’s diverse musical career has led to performances with Randy Brecker, Jeff Healy, Arkells, Ron Sexsmith, Brandi Disterheft, Michael Kaeshammer, Colin James, Blue Rodeo, Johnny Reid, Oliver Jones, Powder Blues Band and Jarvis Church. Bear Garden is a musical expression, neither more nor less. It´s music - it´s everything. Martin Wirén, the man behind the artist Bear Garden, is a many times rewarded composer and saxophonist with scholarships such as the Swedish STIM award and The Royal Swedish Academy of Music award on his personal record. On request from the Swedish Nobel Prize Museum he is also known for his musical interpretation of the Nobel Prize winner in literature 2016, Bob Dylan. Born in the small town of Gällivare in northern Sweden, Wirén was introduced to the saxophone at an early age. Spending the two first decades of his life in the garage of his family home practicing the horn, he later moved to Stockholm to attend The Royal College of Music. Dean Tsur is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, and bandleader originally from Israel and based out of New York.
Dean is a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk Competition and winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Competition and Carinthian International Jazz Award. Dean has performed with GRAMMY winners Roy Hargrove and Wynton Marsalis, and has played at iconic venues including Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Minton’s Playhouse, and Smalls, amongst others.
Dean has toured Europe, Asia, and America and has performed at various festivals including the James Moody Jazz Festival, Caramoor Jazz Festival, and Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, amongst others.
Dean holds master's and bachelor's degrees from The Juilliard School

Marc Mommaas

Marc Mommaas, tenor saxophonist and composer was born in Tegelen, Netherlands on Sept. 12th, 1969. He grew up in Amsterdam and since 1997 made NYC his home. His father Henk Mommaas, was a well-known painter/artist in the Netherlands and developed his career in Amsterdam. His mother Carolien Collette is a pianist, opera singer and educator. His grandfather on his mother’s side was a professional multi instrumentalist playing flute, viola da gamba, recorder, organ, spinet and harpsichord and taught at the conservatory of Maastricht. His grandmother on his mothers side was an opera singer and his great grandfather an organ player. Tim Boniface

TIM BONIFACE is a jazz saxophonist and pianist. He is based in Cambridge where he works as a performer, teacher and composer. He is also an ordained priest and theologian, and is Chaplain at Girton College, University of Cambridge.
Tim has collaborated with a wide array of players on the current UK scene, including recordings with Tara Minton, Polly Gibbons and Phil Merriman amongst others, and fruitful partnerships with vocalist Irene Serra, saxophonist Tony Kofi and pianist James Pearson. As director of the Sunday Sessions at The Lab in Cambridge and regular house band member at Ashtead Jazz Club and elsewhere, he has played with an accompanied numerous luminaries, including Jo Harrop, Nigel Price, Scott Hamilton, Peter Horsfall, Natalie Williams, Allison Neale, Immy Churchill, Graham Harvey, Germana La Sorsa, Noemi Nutti and others. His Cambridge Jazz Festival gigs with James Pearson, bassist Jeremy Brown and drummers Sophie Alloway and Steve Brown have been sold out weeks in advance. Along with tenor player Sam Miles he holds a jazz residency at the University Arms hotel in Cambridge.

Iming Lin

Iming Lin is a classically trained, jazz saxophonist and composer, from Taipei, Taiwan. His musical journey began when he was six years old, when his parents decided to enroll him for piano lessons in the hopes that music would calm and discipline this boisterous, energetic six-year old boy. Few years later, Lin picked up the saxophone at the age of ten when his music teacher introduced him to wind concert band. Lin went on to study classical saxophone at Chinese Culture University and Shih Chien University. He won the Shih Chien University Concerto Competition in 2009 and performed Paul Creston “Concerto for Alto Saxophone” with Shih Chien University Orchestra at Taipei ZongShan Hall

Yuto Mitomi is a saxophonist, woodwinds player, jazz composer, and arranger based in New York City. As an internationally recognized artist hailing from both Japan and the USA, Mitomi has garnered acclaim for his innovative approach to jazz and a distinctive sound that blends tradition with modernity.
After moving to New York City and graduating with a BFA in Jazz program from The City College of New York, Mitomi began performing regularly in the local jazz scene. Since 2016, Mitomi has been a regular performer at Tomi Jazz, a renowned jazz venue in New York City with over 20 years of history.
