Shueh-li Ong

Shueh-li is best known for the way she melds electronic-pop-rock-jazz, with her fav sci-fi instrument; the theremin, synths, tin-whistle, piano, and sound design. Shueh-li has recorded and produced 4 CDs and several singles to date. Australian born Shueh-li (Shelley) is known as 'Singapore's 1st & only diva of the theremin', and in Nashville as their 'Queen of the theremin'.

Though she has been compared to such self produced artists as Kate Bush, Madonna, and Yoko Kanno, Shueh-li's sound is very much her own.

Shueh-li is also founder & leader of Xenovibes (electronic-prog band.) Artists who have worked with her include Dean Parks, Shelley Carrol, Curtis Randall, Chuck Smith, Mike McKinney.

Don Lackritz

Born:

Born March 20, 1947, the son of Sherry and Bob Lackritz and nephew of famous soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy who was said to have introduced the instrument to John Coltrane (and it's true). His Uncle Steve had also played with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Stitt and countless others in the Sun Ra vein of Post War American Black Jazz. Don played the guitar at age 12 and diguised his youth in clubs with help of the mobbed up managements that controlled liquor licenses in bars and music venues in the 50's thru the late 70's in the New York Metropolitan State area. Don remembers Steve Lacy from family seders in the New York home of his uncle and aunr, Joe and Mildred Lackritz and how they celebrated listening to klesmer music and Charlie Parker Jazz tinged with a little Monk thrown in for good measure at the last call for alcohol

Talibam

Active since:

Dear Colleagues: Talibam! is a Fun Band That Entertains. Talibam! is one of the most potent and fascinating bands in today's music scene. The five plus years of interplay between Mottel and Shea has created one of the most unique and exciting live shows and some of the most powerfully recorded documents of any era. At a time when most culture sticks to conservative niche opportunities, Talibam! is interested in expansion and exploration; They manage to part the sea by not sticking to genre, aesthetic predisposition or the usual norms of what being a 'band' is. More inclined to put on a show that any and all will like, and not be stymied by 'avant' type casting, they have won over both unsuspecting and in the 'know' audiences worldwide

The Jazz Apokalypzz

Born:

Danny Chatmon aka The Jazz Apokalypzz began his career as a guitarist at the age of 8 years old. In his teens he picked up the bass guitar but later in life began DJ work and audio technician work at his local church (for over 17 years). He bought his first keyboard in 1988 and the rest is history. His brand of jazz has morphed from what his brother used to say was "elevator music" to his own genre self-titled "ReJazz"or "Jazz Fonque." ReJazz is the new revolution, revelation, recreation, that utilizes Dr. Robert Moogs instrument creation to produce all instruments. Dan would say that the tour de force of the synthesizer is happening now
