Summer Camargo, 19, is a trumpet player entering her sophomore year of college, majoring in jazz studies. She is a recipient of a Jerome L. Greene Fellowship at The Juilliard School. ​ Summer, born and raised in Hollywood, FL, has been a member of the prestigious All-National Jazz Band, the Jazz Band of America, the Grammy Band, the Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, and was named a National YoungArts Foundation Merit winner, and Honorable Mention in Jazz Trumpet, as well as Merit winner in Jazz Composition. Summer was also Downbeat Magazine’s Outstanding Student Jazz Performance Award recipient
