Mika Pohjola is a Finnish-born jazz pianist and composer, who resides in New York City. He is one of the most prolific Scandinavian jazz musicians in his generation. Childhood in Helsinki, Finland 1971-87 Mika Pohjola was born in Helsinki, Finland, and grew up in the neighboring city of Vantaa. He received his formal education in a Steiner school, where his first instrument was violin. He then studied drums, and in 1979 piano and basic music theory with his father, Heikki Pohjola, who is a notable Finnish jazz guitarist. In 1982, young Pohjola entered the Helsinki cathedral boy choir, Cantores Minores under the direction of Heinz Hofmann

Alberto Pinton is a jazz instrumentalist, composer and educator. He has performed jazz and improvised music since the mid-eighties, on all sizes of saxophones, clarinets and flutes.
His current projects as bandleader are Alberto Pinton’s Relentless, Alberto Pinton Trio, Alberto Pinton Noi Siamo and Alberto Pinton Sestetto Contemporaneo.
He has released sixteen albums of original music with the following constellations: Alberto Pinton Clear Now, Dog Out, Alberto Pinton Quintet, Pinton/Kullhammar/Zetterberg/Nordeson, Alberto Pinton Nascent, Alberto Pinton Noi Siamo, Alberto Pinton Sestetto Contemporaneo, Alberto Pinton Trio, Alberto Pinton Solo & the latest NUQuartet.

David Stackenäs was born in 1974 in Stockholm, Sweden. After finishing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm he has grown to become one of the mainstays of improvised and creative music in Sweden.
Stackenäs works in the field of contemporary jazz and free improvised music. Over the years he has developed a unique way of playing guitar – both prepared with different materials as well as conventional technique and a growing armada of pedals. With a wide range of sounds and techniques he creates music with great imagination and poetry. As a soloist he mainly focuses on acoustic guitars, using a lot of the organic sound- possibillities and timbres the instrument has to offer.

Martin Wirén, the man behind the artist Bear Garden, is a many times rewarded composer and saxophonist with scholarships such as the Swedish STIM award and The Royal Swedish Academy of Music award on his personal record. Jakob Norgren

Jakob Norgren is a Swedish saxophonist, composer, arranger and big band leader. Main instruments are baritone sax, tenor sax, clarinet, bass clarinet and contra alto clarinet. He started his orchestra, initially named Jakob Norgren Big Band Splash, in 2004 and first released two albums that mixed contemporary jazz with soul/R&B. From 2010 Jakob let the band develop into a pure soul-jazz/R&B orchestra under the shortened name Big Band Splash, while introducing Jakob Norgren Jazz Orchestra (with almost the same members) where he could refine his contemporary jazz writing.
