Dave Specter has earned an international reputation as one of the premier talents on the Chicago music scene. Since 1985 Specter has performed regularly at top venues and festivals throughout the USA and has toured internationally in 19 countries.

Before forming his own band in 1989, Specter toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe behind such blues greats as Son Seals, The Legendary Blues Band, Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay and Steve Freund. Specter has also performed and/or recorded with such artists as Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rogers, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Jimmy Johnson, Jack McDuff, Johnny Adams, Snooky Pryor, Kim Wilson, Tad Robinson, John Primer, Johnny Littlejohn, B.B. Odom, Mighty Joe Young, Magic Slim, Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie Earl, Otis Clay, Floyd McDaniel, Pinetop Perkins and Jorma Kaukonen from Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane.

Zock Organ Trio

The Zock Organ Trio is a jazz trio formed in 2012 with its mission being to wave the flag of jazz using modern music as the vehicle.  In addition to contemporary music they also play choice standards and other jazz classics.  They have played such Chicago clubs as The Underground Wonderbar and the Abbey Pub.  They released their first album, ‘Mission Statement’ in 2020.

The Filthy Six

The Filthy Six are the most exciting, authentic soul jazz outfit in the UK today and have established themselves as one of the most electric live acts on the scene. Their soaring horns, blistering guitar and gut-wrenching organ are fuelled by one of the hardest grooving rhythm sections around, producing a hip-shakingly powerful mix of jazz, funk and boogaloo, totally in keeping with the finest traditions of the late 60s Blue Note/Prestige sound.

Led by Trumpeter Nick Etwell (Tom Jones/Beck/David Axelrod/Mumford & Sons), this band of musical gunslingers have worked with some of the biggest names in music: Amy Winehouse, Mavis Staples, Ronnie Spector, Mark Ronson, Jill Scott, Jack White, Dionne Warwick, The Foo Fighters, Robbie Williams, Duran Duran, Chrissie Hynde, Noel Gallagher, Disclosure, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Fred Wesley and Spiritualized to name a few. 

Dan Waldman

Guitarist Dan Waldman has paid dues both in Europe and the USA, over a number of genres, performing as a sideman with artists such as Jason Marshall, Soul Understated (Bean Clemons / Mavis Swan Poole), Pee Wee Ellis, Jean Toussaint, Gareth Lockrane, Frank Willams / Brotherhood of Breath, The Real Live Show / MC Malik Work, Grupo Lokito (RIP Eugene Makuta), Jovol Bell, Nate Jones, Kim Thompson, Raheem DeVaughan and Celestine - appearing on recordings released by Acid Jazz, Jazz Refreshed, Mark de Clive Lowe and more.

His 2020 debut release as leader  'Sources & Angles', featuring Will Vinson on sax, Kassa Overall on drums and Ryan Berg on bass received a 4 star review in Jazzwise magazine, international radio play and positive reviews elsewhere including The Times and on this site.

Larry Davis Vernec

Larry Davis Vernec began his bass studies in 1982 with John Leftwich, in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, near San Diego California.  He has played bass in a wide variety of jazz combos since the mid 1980’s and moved to Denver Colorado in 2019, where he can be heard playing straight ahead jazz in local clubs and restaurants with Denver's top talent.
