Serena Sykes is a vocalist and bass player, living in Birchington, Kent. She currently features in Swing Noir, a Swing/Gypsy Jazz trio with Jim Knowler, (Hullabaloo, The Keytones) and Jonny Hepbir, (The Jonny Hepbir Quartet), and Seremas, with Thomas Abrahams, (Manor Manouche, The Thomas Abrahams trio). She also works freelance wherever possible. A born and bred Yorkshire girl, Serena has been involved in music since early childhood. Originally a classical pianist and oboist, she later trained as a vocalist and most recently, a bass player. In 2008, she moved to Kent, where she built a good reputation in the local scene and dedicated most of her time to her true love of music, the Swing and Jazz genres
