Julian MacDonough

Julian MacDonough is an award winning American jazz musician, studio drummer, and educator based in the Pacific NW. Since 1991, Julian has performed with over 200 musical acts and recorded 150+ albums to date. He is honored to have toured with such notables as Jimmy Heath, Harold Mabern, Joey DeFranscesco, Terell Stafford, Peter Bernstein, Joe Magnarelli, Gary Smulyan, Marcus Printup, Walter Banding Jr., and Dr. Lonnie Smith. A passionate educator, Julian holds over 20 years teaching experience with students of all ages in both private lessons and in leading combo classes. He has guest taught at institutions throughout the Pacific NW, as an adjunct professor at Cornish College of the Arts, Central Washington University, and Western Washington University, with the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band, the Ferndale High School Jazz Band, the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Port Townsend Jazz Festival, and as a guest artist instructor at institutions throughout western Canada and the US

Vince Brown

Vince Brown has been performing on guitar, tenor & 5- string banjo & uke in a variety of styles for over 40 years. He has played at venues & festivals, in pit orchestras and recoding studios around the world and now lives quite happily in his adopted hometown of Olympia, Washington playing regular gigs throughout the northwest. Recent performance projects include western swing style take-off guitar with Red Brown & the Tune Stranglers; guitar & tenor banjo with the gypsy swing band Hot Club Sandwich; a swing duo project with vocalist LaVon Hardison; guitarist with the modern jazz/lounge group The Greta Jane Quartet; as well as pick-up work with small combos and big bands and regular solo performances on guitar and banjo. Vince has also recently been host to "The Swing Set" a weekly series that has afforded the opportunity to play with some of the Northwests finest musicians including Neil Andersson & Michael Gray from Pearl Django; swing violin legend Paul Anastasio; Steel guitar masters Dan Tyak & Ben Bonham and the mistress of the ukulele Del Rey!

Kurt Bischof

Kurt Bischoff has been playing drums for over 55 years. He played in numerous rock and jazz groups during high school and studied music theory and composition at the University of California, Davis with Stan Lunetta, Larry Austin, John Cage and others. During his college years, he performed with the Sacramento Symphony, the Camelia City Orchestra and the rock groups Gumbo Ya-Ya and Opus Fluke. He was also a founding member of the Hyborean performance group Amra/Arma with which he performed at the International Carnival of Experimental Sound in London, England in 1972. In 1988, Kurt and his family moved from California to the Pacific Northwest where he continued playing in various jazz groups (including a tenure with Richard Thompson and Harry Holbert)

Eric has composed more than 200 pieces of music in many different genres, including jazz, gospel, funk, electronic, neoclassical, latin-jazz, rock and R&B, He has published 5 of his own recordings (Peace, What Child Is This?, I Remember You, Daily Grind and Firewalker) and performed on more than 25 other recordings

Johnaye Kendrick

Johnaye Kendrick was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She received a Bachelor of Music from Western Michigan University in 2005. During her time at Western Michigan, she received a DownBeat Student Music Award for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist, and was featured in an honors recital with pianist Fred Hersch. In the fall of 2007, Ms. Kendrick was accepted to the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz.
