Stockholm Voices - A Vocal Powerhouse!

Sold out concerts and standing ovations have followed in the trails of Stockholm Voices! The four soloists offer vocal harmony singing at a world class level.

Stockholm Voices is a vocal jazz quartet with a swinging band. With one foot in the lush soil of jazz, the other in the Nordic midsummer night, the singers offer melodious voicings draped in elegance and charm. The debut album “Come Rain or Come Shine” was released in 2015 and received rave reviews from the press. In March 2023 the singers release their new album - “New Horizon”, a tribute to the fantastic music composed by Sir Paul McCartney during his long career, from the Beatles days until today. 

Oleksandr Kolosii

Born: October 20, 1990

Copenhagen-based Polish/Ukrainian jazz saxophonist Oleksandr Kolosii was born in Donetsk, Ukraine into a family of professional musicians. He began playing classical piano at the age of 6, and at age 12 he picked up the saxophone and found his lifelong passion for jazz music. His style of playing pays tribute to legendary bebop and hard bop players like Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Stitt, and John Coltrane. Currently he combines this with a continuous inspiration from a wide array of active jazz musicians on the scene today. Oleksandr moved to Denmark in 2017 to further his career and join the Scandinavian jazz scene

Anders Hagberg

Born: September 11, 1958

Anders Hagberg – flautist · saxophonist · composer · professor of musical performance

Critically acclaimed and innovative virtuoso Anders Hagberg is a unique soloist on a variety of flutes and soprano saxophone. His musical synthesis, combines the improvised freedom of jazz with an archaic Scandinavian lyricism and influences from his longtime collaborations with Oriental musicians. Creative, and with instrumental mastery, these elements are merged into a profound and personal expression.

Improvisation and boundary crossing collaborations are the hallmarks of Anders, and his projects often includes artists from various genres and cultures as well as other art forms such as dance and visual arts

He has been touring worldwide with his own groups and as a soloist with Yggdrasil, Mynta and New Jungle Orchestra as well as musicians like Marilyn Mazur, John Tchicai, Anders Jormin, Vikku Vinayakram, Shankar Mahadevan to name a few

Kira Martini

Born: June 27, 1985

In few year, the Copenhagen-based vocalist & songwriter, Kira Martini, has become a strong and wellknown character on the danish jazzscene. With her positive energi and frank ways; her warm, true voice; and a broad repertoire of different styles, she is unlike any other singer on the scene. Johanna Pitkänen

Born: June 8, 1982

Johanna Pitkänen is a pianist and composer from Helsinki. She has explored the musical globe from Scandinavia to Cuba and from different parts of Africa to Spain. Pitkänen writes music by commission and performs on solo piano and with duos and trios. Her oldest ongoing group is Kokko Quartet, a Finnish jazz group using world music influences in their music. The group has released two albums, their latest release is Orient Express from 2016. Pitkänen also writes music for film. In 2019 she released electronic music together with producer Satu Nieminen Pitkänen graduated from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor’s degree in Pop and Jazz Music

William Soovik

Born: April 16, 1989

I was born in 1989, in a city south of Gothenburg called Mölndal. My father has been a professional musician during my whole life, and he inspired me to play music when I was young. I've seen photos of myself, as a small child, hitting my mothers pots and pans with wooden spoons in the kitchen, but it wasn't until my father showed me a video tape of the legendary jazz-drummer Buddy Rich that I knew I wanted to play the drums. Despite my fascination with the drums, I was very ambivalent when I was about start taking music lessons and got to choose what instrument to play. I struggled, for quite some time, deciding between the saxophone and the drums

Fredrik Lundin

Born: April 7, 1964

Saxophonist, flutist, composer and band leader Fredrik Lundin is one of the major jazz profiles of his generation in Scandinavia. Since arriving on the Danish Jazz scene in 1981 this elegant and explosive musician has been searching relentlessly into the realms of contemporary music, respecting no boundaries. A truly original and virtuoso voice, performing in bands around Europe and Scandinavia, such as his own Offpiste Gurus, 5 Go Adventuring Again, the 13 piece MaLuBa Orchestra, which he co-leads with Marilyn Mazur and Kasper Bai, and with Marilyn Mazur Group, Jon Balke Magnetic North Orchestra and Carsten Dahl.
