Sara Aldén, a vibrant Swedish jazz vocalist from Gothenburg, brings integrity and curiosity to her exploration of jazz. Her music invites listeners into intimate moments of stillness while also resonating powerfully in grand spaces.

Growing up between sala and avesta in sweden, sara discovered her passion for jazz at the age of 12, starting with big band performances. today, jazz remains her main focus.

With a foundation in big band and a love for interpreting jazz standards, sara now ventures into her own interpretations of the genre, infusing it with her unique style. holds a master of fine arts in music with specialisation in improvisation performance from the academy of music and drama in gothenburg. currently, she pursues master studies in gendering practices at the university of gothenburg, where her research delves into gender inequalities and experiences within the jazz context.

Awards

Sara is the recipient of the Fredrika Bremer Scholarship and the recipient of Scholaship from The Royal Swedish Academy of Music twice.
