Patrick Darwin Smith

Born: September 6, 1995

Patrick Smith is a saxophonist based in Toronto (originally from Ottawa).

He has established himself as a gifted and in demand saxophonist in the Canadian music scene. In recent years he has extensively toured Canada, the US, and Europe with Legends of Motown (featuring Michael Dunston and Gary Beals), My Son The Hurricane, Chelsea Mcbride’s Socialist Night School, and Forever Seger. 

He keeps an active freelance schedule in Toronto and around North America appearing with artists such as Order of Canada Recipient Dave Young, Juini Booth (bassist for Mccoy Tyner and Tony Williams), Yemen Blues, Erez Zobary, Heavyweights Brass Band, Dee Dee and the Dirty Martinis, Eighth Street Orchestra, Dan Pitt Quintet, King Cardiac, Queen Pepper, Kazdoura, and Shout The Band., An active bandleader, he currently leads three projects. His quintet which plays hard hitting original modern jazz. His chord-less trio called “3-Oh” which draws from the spirit of Sonny Rollins and plays music from the standard jazz canon, originals, as well as unique interpretations of more contemporary material. 

The Dorsey Brothers

The Dorsey Brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, were influential American musicians and bandleaders who played pivotal roles in the swing era of the 1930s and 1940s. After initially performing together in various orchestras, including that of the Paul Whiteman (known as "The King of Jazz"), they formed their own bands in the late 1930s. Tommy, a virtuoso trombonist, and Jimmy, a talented saxophonist and clarinetist, each led successful ensembles, with Tommy's band renowned for its smooth, polished arrangements and Jimmy’s for its more vibrant, jazz-infused style. Lucious Crawford

Born: September 15, 2006

Lucious Crawford is a saxophonist and composer based in New York City, dedicated to preserving the spirit of traditional jazz while embracing the evolving language of the genre. A native of Washington, D.C., Crawford began his musical journey at the age of three and has since developed a voice rooted in the expressive depth of straight-ahead jazz. His inaugural album, Ballads n Blues, captures the essence of his early artistic vision—melding lyrical balladry with the soulful grit of blues in a way that honors the lineage of great jazz storytellers. Crawford’s playing is the great Hank Mobley, whose warm tone, melodic phrasing, and understated brilliance deeply shaped his approach to the tenor saxophone

Levi Saelua

Born: May 17, 1990

Levi began his musical studies at age 6 with the Sacramento Taiko Dan under the direction of Sensei Tiffany Tamaribuchi. At age 9, he began studying saxophone and, five years later, arranged his first piece for jazz combo while attending Rio Americano High School. Upon graduating from Rio Americano's internationally distinguished jazz program, Levi furthered his music education at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, studying saxophone with Chien-Kwan Lin, Jose Encarnacion, and Charles Pillow, and jazz composition with Bill Dobbins and Dave Rivello. As a student at Eastman, Levi had the opportunity to work with artists such as Bob Brookmeyer, Maria Schneider, Bill Holman, Ryan Truesdell, Jeff Beal, and many others

Stabe Wilson

Stabe Wilson: A Saxophonist Extraordinaire

Passionate, soul-stirring, and eclectic—these adjectives perfectly capture the essence of saxophonist Stabe Wilson's musical journey. Hailing from Oakland, California, Stabe's love affair with the saxophone began at the tender age of ten. By eleven, after a captivating performance at his father's church, he knew his calling was to share his extraordinary talent with the world. 

Stabe honed his craft studying music at Chabot Community College, College of Alameda, and San Francisco State University. At the College of Alameda, he had the privilege of being part of the Big Band under the legendary jazz pianist Bill Bell, which further shaped his musical foundation.

Anton Sushev

Anton Sushev is a Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist, producer, & composer.

As a recording artist and composer Anton has already released 3 studio solo albums, 1 live solo album 1 EP and few singles, as well as countless collaborations with fellow producers and artists.

As a sideman, Anton has been a recording or performing artist with Rich Brian, Lady Bug Mecca (Digable Planets), Tichina Arnold, Mansour, Bambaata Marley, Brooks Nielsen (The Growlers), Stanley Randolph, Ghost Note, Mike Phillips, Bob Reynolds, Nonso Amadi, Maurice Brown, Michael Bereal, Bob Sheppard, Saul Williams, Chaz Shepherd, Gorden Campbell, Chesley Cheese, Brandon Brown, Danny Janklow, Brandon Coleman, Kyle Poole, Javier Santiago, Krec(rus), Magicool(rus) & Mummy Troll(rus)

Andrew Robertson

Andrew is one of the most in demand jazz/commercial arrangers in Australia. He has been the Jazz Harmony & Arranging Lecturer at Sydney Conservatorium of Music since 2016 and has written for innumerable artists for live performance and recordings; US Superbowl 2021; Australian Idol; Eurovision Song Contest; many television ads on Australian TV and every year for the NSW Schools Spectacular. Specialising in Big Band and orchestral arranging, Andrew writes for a diverse range of musical groups from Choirs to 800 recorders + 250 strings for the NSW Primary Instrumental Festival!

In 2021 during the Sydney COVID lockdown Andrew completed a 3 movement, 30 minute work: “Symphony For Big Band” featuring Tenor Sax and Viola. The 1st Movement received grant funding to record in a virtual ‘Big Band @Home’ and can be seen here on YouTube.

Cody McCafferty

Born: May 18, 2005

Cody McCafferty is an up-and-coming saxophonist/producer from the Central Florida area looking to bring a fresh voice to Jazz in his generation. With a planned four releases by the year's end as well as a touring calendar reaching from venues in Florida, NYC and even internationally his multi-disciplinary approach to composition will be shared with new audiences.

Jstop Latin Soul

Active since: 2018

Jstop Latin Soul formed in 2018 when trombonist Joel Stopka and bassist/guitarist Brian Mesko united to pursue their passion for Afro-Cuban music and jazz. The duo assembled a collective of the area's finest seasoned musicians, all of whom have performed with a "who's who" of jazz, blues, Latin, and R&B legends and recording artists.

Vladimir Espinosa and David Sandoval, two dynamic Latin percussion technicians, lead the driving rhythm section alongside drummer DeWayne Peters and pianist 'Montuno Tom' Floyd. The late Ken Hitchcock, a renowned New York recording artist and saxophone virtuoso (1956–2022), contributed masterful tenor sax and flute performances, which are featured on the group’s first CD. Multi-instrumentalist Willis Greenstreet adds depth to the ensemble with his gritty guitar and sax solos. Recording artist and engineer, Bobby Read, from Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers fame, joined the band in 2022 and brought an exceptional new level of artistry to the group.
