David Schiff

Dave Schiff, a 20 year veteran of the Navy Band Jazz Ensemble “The Commodores”, is a powerful and versatile woodwind jazz instrumentalist who has traveled the world working with top entertainers and jazz legends such as Thad Jones, Mel Lewis Orchestra, Don Menza, and Dizzy Gillespie. Smooth jazz, straight ahead, funk... you name it... Dave can play it. His expertise on all woodwinds has given him the opportunity to back great acts all over the country, including performers such as Barry Manilow, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra Jr., Natalie Cole, and many more. When Dave is not on tour, he usually finds himself in the Theatres in the Philadelphia area playing Broadway shows. Dave performs extensively in jazz festivals and is an active clinician, working with young musicians in high schools and colleges

Gerson Galante

Born: July 14, 1966

Profile Gerson Galante is a Brazilian multi- instrumentalist, bandleader, composer and arranger, whose musical fluency spans many genres, including Latin, Brazilian, Jazz, Classical, Theater, Modern, and Pop. He is currently lead tenor saxophonist with Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, the top jazz orchestra in South America, and has toured with some of the most famous Brazilian musical artists for four decades. Julian Lee

Julian Lee is quickly establishing himself as one of the most sought after and versatile saxophonists of his generation. He is the recipient of the 2017 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award from Jazz At Lincoln Center, and has performed both internationally and nationally with a wide array of critically acclaimed artists, including Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and Jon Batiste.

Julian hosted the late night jam session at Dizzy’s Club in Jazz at Lincoln Center from 2015 until 2019, playing with countless of the finest musicians on the New York scene. In addition to headlining his own projects at Dizzy’s, he has played at the Blue Note, Jazz Standard, Birdland, Newport Jazz Festival, and Monterey Jazz Festival.

Benjamin Harrison

Benjamin Harrison is a multi-instrumental musician, composer and producer from Australia. He has performed and toured across five continents – most recently with Cirque du Soleil’s touring productions of Quidam, KOOZA, VOLTA and Alegria. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, Benjamin plays saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone), EWI (electronic wind instrument), clarinet, piano, keyboards, synthesizers, guitar, bass guitar and other assorted woodwind instruments. Benjamin grew up in Adelaide, Australia and began performing in musical productions from a young age, initially beginning studies on piano and violin at the age of four

Samy Thiébault

Born in the Ivory Coast to teachers, Samy Thiébault received a traditional musical education at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux before entering the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris to study jazz (class of 2008). While studying music, he also obtained a Master’s degree in philosophy, with high honors, from the Sorbonne (2001). The album Blues For Nel came out in 2004, followed by Gaya Scienza in 2007, and Upanishad Expériences in 2010. This last album was the first project produced by the label he created and now directs, Gaya Music Production. With the 2013 album Clear Fire, audiences fell hard under the spell of his music, prompting the press to say of his playing that it is “Coltranian in the best sense of the word” (Nouvel Obs)

Simon Crosby-Arreaza

Simón Crosby-Arreaza was born in Long Island, New York in 1996. A child of two medical students from Colombia, Simón spent his childhood in New Jersey, in a home that fostered a love for intellectual heritage and the arts. Learning flute at the age of 7, Simón began to study the music of Bach and Mozart under his father’s encouragement. At 13 he picked up the saxophone and shortly after, began to study with saxophone teachers at the Jazz House Kids program in New Jersey, namely Bruce Williams of the World Saxophone Quartet and RH Factor, and Julius Tolentino, alumnus of the Illinois Jaquet and Duke Ellington bands

Mark DeJong

Mark has been active as a performer and educator since graduating from the University of Calgary in 1991. He taught saxophone at the Mount Royal College Conservatory, organized music for the Beat Niq jazz club from its inception until 2000, and maintained a busy performing schedule with The Swinging Bovines saxophone quartet. After moving to Vancouver in 1998 to study with acclaimed sax teacher Stan Karp, Mark again relocated to New Jersey in 2001 to pursue graduate jazz studies with master saxophonist Ralph Bowen. After completing his graduate studies Mark returned to Canada to begin teaching jazz studies at the University of Saskatchewan. OUTER BRIDGE ENSEMBLE During his three-year stint in New Jersey, Mark helped to form the Outer Bridge Ensemble, an all-original jazz quintet that has performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival as well as many New York clubs including the 55bar, the Knitting Factory, Detour and others. The Outer Bridge Ensemble has released two cd recordings, toured western Canada with the assistance of Canada Council, and has featured numerous guest musicians including trumpeter James Zoller, clarinetist Oscar Noriega, and saxophonist Claire Daly.

Keith O'Rourke

Keith O'Rourke is a born and raised Albertan. After travelling the world and seven seas honing his craft, he returned home to Calgary in 2008.

Keith is a member of many local groups, most notably The Primetime Big Band and the Calgary Creative Arts Ensemble.  Blessed with the opportunity to regularly perform for many of Calgary's jazz fans, he has been able to make a name for himself and become a recognizable figure in the jazz community.

Currently Keith is focusing on three projects, the Keith O'Rourke Quintet, Baritone Madness and the Past Present Quintet.  The main focus of Keith's quartet is to feature his own original compositions.  Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of jazz musicians, his writing is both fresh while still being rooted in the jazz tradition.
