Ricardo Acevedo

Ricardo Acevedo of Lost Cat Magnet grew up in an urban environment, roughly 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles, the Inland Empire. Funk, jazz, and rock music of the late 60’s and early 70’s were the constant soundtrack of his childhood. All this morphed into him becoming a new wave, art-punk musician by his early twenties. After moving to Austin in the late 90’s, Ricardo met and started interacting with several musicians and artists of the scene, and during this time, he took on the solo moniker of Lost Cat Magnet. Through the tech tutelage of Ramon Mills (Production Unit Xero) and his label Heterodox Records, he released a series of new, ever-more defined Lost Cat Magnet albums.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
