Paul Edis

Described as ‘a brilliant young pianist’ (Alyn Shipton, The Guardian) Paul Edis is a performer, composer, educator and promoter based in the North East England. From an early age Paul was composing and performing regularly, forming his own bands and promoting concerts. He received a scholarship to study composition at the London College of Music in 2003. Whilst at LCM, initially with the aim of training to become a composer of film music, Paul quickly became a regular visitor to the Jazz department arranging charts for the LCM Big Band, taking part in workshops, and he soon began performing regularly in London alongside saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos

Al Macy
Born:
Al has studied trombone, guitar, and piano, but now devotes all of his time to piano. He can be seen at solo piano gigs, in duos with bass or saxophone, and, primarily, playing with the 24/7 Jazz Trio. When he lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, he studied jazz with bassist Clark Suprynowicz, and was a regular at jam sessions at The Bird Kage, The Manhattan Club, and The First Stop. Since moving to Humboldt County he's performed with The Horn Band, The Hall Street Honkers, The Dixie Dandies, The Eureka Jazz Ensemble, The Titanic Big Band, The CR Big Band, The Soul Survivors, Jazz Passport, and The CR West Coast Septet.

Yuwen Peng

Yuwen Peng is a pianist, composer and the founder of Taiwanese sextet Sizhukong. After graduating in Sociology at the University of Taiwan she moved to Boston to study at Berklee, where she graduated in jazz composition in 2005. With her heightened appreciation for jazz, Peng returned to Taiwan and formed Sizhukong, a fusion of Chinese traditional music and modern sounds, influenced by jazz and African rhythms.
The band’s first album, Sizhukong, was released in 2007, followed by Paper Eagle in 2009. In 2010, Peng began incorporating new sounds in the band’s music by using electric guitar, electric keyboards as well as flirting with electronics. Sony signed up the band, and 2012 saw the release of Sizhukong’s third album, Spin.

Jorge Luis Pacheco

Jorge Luis Pacheco, is one of the leading pianists of the new generation of jazz in Cuba. He was a First Prize Winner of the International Contest for Young Jazz Musicians (Jojazz_2007). He is a Pianist, percussionist, composer and musical director. He studied piano and percussion at the music school “Alejandro García It Caturla “later graduated percussionist in the conservatory “Amadeo Roldán” and worked as a professor at the conservatory “Guillermo Thomas “. Currently he in his last year of studies in composition at the prestigious Institute of Superior arts in Cuba. In October 2010, Pacheco performed as a guest pianist Lincoln Jazz Band Center in New York who runs the world-renowned trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra’s visit to Cuba

Bennett Roth-Newell

Bennett Roth-Newell is a pianist/keyboardist, composer/arranger, emcee, producer, and multi-genre music educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bennett began piano lessons when he was 7 years old and by age 10 became fascinated with jazz. After playing mostly classical music during his first few years of studying piano, Bennett set off on a path of learning jazz standards and immersed himself in the music of the jazz giants—especially of legendary jazz pianists Dave Brubeck, Thelonious Monk, and Bill Evans—while practicing determinedly to develop his sound on the piano as an improviser. Starting as a teenager, he also found a love in hip-hop music and began honing his craft as a lyricist, recording artist, producer, and live performer.
