At First è l'album di esordio del giovane e promettente pianista e compositore Soren Gemmer. Il ventinovenne band leader affronta la musica efficacemente, sviluppando dialetticamente il rapporto tra composizione, arrangiamento e improvvisazione senza mai privilegiare troppo un aspetto sugli altri (per quanto la scrittura appaia decisamente preminente).
