Klas Nevrin

Born: June 2, 1972

Klas Nevrin is a pianist, keyboardist and composer, also an associate professor in improvisation at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Currently he leads a 3-year artistic research project on collective improvisation (www.musicindisorder.se), as well as an international Octet "The Revoid Ensemble" (www.revoidensemble.com). Klas Nevrin is perhaps best well known for his work with saxophonist Fredrik Ljungkvist’s free jazz groups Yun Kan 5 and Yun Kan 10 - the latter’s CD being acclaimed one of the best releases of 2013 by Downbeat. It was also called “a masterful achievement′′ by All About Jazz

Dan Redner

Dan Redner – Award-Winning Musical Director, Pianist, & Educator

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dan Redner is a versatile pianist in both classical and jazz traditions. A 2007 alumnus of Grand Valley State University, he has earned performance honors from Western Michigan University, Central Michigan University, Aquinas College, and the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival. He has collaborated with the Grand Rapids Symphony and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, and served as a clinic musician for jazz legend Wynton Marsalis.

Dan has performed at the T.S. Eliot Society Conference in St. Louis for the world premiere of Craig Benjamin’s opera, The Wasteland, and at the famed Rose Theater @ Jazz At Lincoln Center in NYC as the MD & Pianist for the Broadway musical revue, Sing out.  In 2025, he performed with Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli during his North American tour at Austin’s Moody Center Arena, and most recently at Bass Concert Hall with Grammy nominated, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird. 

Psychic Equalizer

PSYCHIC EQUALIZER, the project lead by Cantabrian pianist and composer Hugo Selles, has released a new EP. Madrid (or Suite For The Solitary Contemporary Citizen) saw the light on 28th April on iTunes. While the first EP Memories From A Cold Place was inspired by the countryside around Selles’ hometown, this second work focuses on the loneliness of living in a big city. The sound of this new production incorporates elements of rock and jazz, without leaving the influence of electronic and ambient music established by the previous EP. Selles’ pianos and keyboards are joined by the guitar sounds of Quico Duret, renowned guitarist of the Madrid indie scene

Jim Robbins

Born: October 2, 1965

Reminiscent of solo pianists like Liz Story, Lyle Mays, or Keith Jarrett, Jim Robbins plays with an expressiveness that has lead listeners to call his solo piano work "absolutely breathtaking, "remarkable," and "beautiful." His newest CD, "Only Two Things," has been called a "contemplative masterpiece."

Irene Scardia

Born: October 6, 1966

Irene Scardia, pianist, composer indefinable in her originality, lyricism of her sound arrives directly in its technical quality, without getting lost, the essence. Her first album for solo piano, produced by Workin’ label, entitled "I Giorni del vento", was presented in February 2010 on the italian Radio 3 program, Battiti. With an artistic background that sees her going, in addition to regular studies music, in significant experiences in the field of dance and theater, Irene Scardia, realizes some multimedial productions, Il tempo d’Irene (2002), Quattro pagine di me (2003) , Meredith à rebours (2004), I giorni del vento (2008), Quello che so del cielo (2009)

Ashley Henry

Born: November, 1991

Ashley Henry is one of a new generation of musicians that have been raised with a wide range of influences. Ashley Henry – born November 1991 when the last Kuwait oil fires extinguished, Miles Davis passed away, Gang Star released ‘Step in the Arena’, South Africa held its first cricket international in 20 years, PC World opened in the UK, Wynton Marsalis releases ‘Blue Interlude’, Freddie Mercury departed, Branford Marsalis finishes ‘The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born’ and the first performance of Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III took place. Born and raised in South London, England, United Kingdom, Ashley Henry’s listening and visual styles, range from Sinead Harnett, Digital Underground, ZuZu, Margot Fonteyn, Era Istrefi, Freddie Mercury, and Dreezy – through to having fans that include the abstract artist Gareth Nyandoro, being an advocate for the legend pianist Abdullah Ibrahim…and being a big 6LACK fan. In 2016 Ashley Henry graduated from Royal Academy of Music, performed with Jason Marsalis and collaborated with legends Terence Blanchard and Jean Toussaint

Philipp Rüttgers

Born: March 21, 1981

Philipp received the composition assignment for the North Sea Jazz Festival 2018 The jury, consisting of Gijsbert Kamer (music journalist de Volkskrant), Cyriel Pluimakers (jazz programmer and a delegate for the VIP), and Kim Bloem (programmer North Sea Jazz), was unanimous in selecting Rüttgers for the Composition Assignment for this year. “We are impressed by the large wealth of ideas and composing style of Rüttgers, which is colorful, dynamically varied and also has an interesting rhythm.” For the Composition Assignment Rüttgers will take the listener to revisit fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, giving them voice in a composition entitled Twists Of H.C

Sarah McKenzie

Bill Sample

Born: May 7, 1950

Bill Sample is a composer, producer, arranger and pianist. Bill’s career has spanned four decades and his reputation is unsurpassed. Bill is a ‘first call’ musician and composer in Vancouver. As a jazz pianist, Bill opened for Oscar Peterson and Monty Alexander. He performed with Ray Charles, Mel Torme, Robben Ford, Art Pepper, Dee Daniels and Fraser MacPherson. As musical director for David Foster for 9 years, he performed with Celine Dion, Brian Adams, Peter Cetera, and Kenny Loggins, to name a few. He was music director for the Variety Club telethon from 1985 to 1995. In 2003, Bill was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame

Alex Otey

Alex Otey’s career is a testament to a lifelong passion for music, shaped by early classical training and a love for jazz. As a multi-instrumentalist, his journey has led him to collaborate with some of the most renowned names in the industry and earn prestigious accolades.

An award-winning pianist, singer, trumpeter, and composer/arranger, Otey has performed with prominent jazz musicians and recorded alongside legends like Grover Washington Jr. and Richie Cole. He arranged, performed on, and produced a GRAMMY-nominated album and contributed to another nominated project, as well as a GRAMMY-winning collaboration. Performing throughout Philadelphia, Central NJ, and beyond, he has graced venues such as the River House at Odette’s, the King George Inn, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, World Café Live, and Harrah’s Casino. Highlights of his career include performing at the White House Egg Roll event with Miss Amy, appearances at Bethlehem Musikfest, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. In addition to his live performances, Otey hosts The Trenton Jazz Show aired though WWFM JazzOn2 89.1 HD2, and received a master's in Music Business from Berklee College of Music.
