I have been working as a performing and recording artist since age 13. I began as a rock & roll/blues guitarist. From the age of 16, I worked with the late producer and Connecticut recording industry legend, Thomas "Doc" Cavalier worked as house studio guitarist at Trod Nossel Studios in Wallingford, and was the original lead guitarist for popular northeast rock act, "The Scratch Band". Silvano Monasterios
Pianist-composer Silvano Monasterios was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He spent his formative years of musical training at the Jose Angel Lamas Conservatory while he alternately encountered the great American jazz tradition in all its diversity. He promptly began his professional career at the age of 18, combining these influences by performing and recording with some of the most prominent Venezuelan artists of the time.
In 1989, Silvano traveled to Miami, Florida, to participate in the Miami Jazz Festival, where he received a “Best Soloist Award.” By 1990, he had immigrated to the United States to begin his collegiate studies at Miami-Dade College. More recognition followed with another “Outstanding Soloist Award” at the University of Northern Colorado in 1991 and then a music scholarship from the University of Miami, from which he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1995. In 1998, Silvano was voted “New Artist of the Year” at the Hennessey Cognac Jazz Search in New York City, which led to a slot at the Playboy Jazz Festival. This year also marked the release of his first CD, “Roads Not Taken”, prompting more critical interest in the U.S. and Latin America.
About Susan Perti-Dunn

Susan Perti-Dunn
Born:
I started playing a tiny table top organ at age 6, listening to my brothers Beatle's and Styx albums and then playing the songs by ear. I quickly and naturally advanced in school, becoming involved in jazz ensemble as a vocalist, soloist in chorus, and eventually as a pianist in college. After college I was fortunate to learn much about the elderly and directed recreation therapy and performed music for them in nursing homes and retirement communities, which I currently still enjoy doing on a regular basis. I have made a living doing what I love. Music. As a professional vocalist as well, I am always eager to teach students the art of voice and nurture raw talent.

Steve Lantner
Steve Lantner brings the disparate natures of a wide range of musical styles--free improvisation, jazz, contemporary chamber and microtonal music--together to create an all encompassing voice that is uniquely his. He is known for his originality, energy, versatility and a style that places melody and harmony back on the improviser's palette alongside texture, velocity and abstraction. Part of his pursuit is to find a new language that embraces the deep traditions of Jazz without picking one side or the other in its dichotomy--to establish a style that embraces the breadth of all the developments at our disposal.
