Dan Tepfer
Born:
One of his generation’s extraordinary talents, Dan Tepfer has earned an international reputation as a pianist-composer of wide-ranging innovation, individuality, and drive—one “who refuses to set himself limits” (France’s Télérama). The New York City-based Tepfer, born in 1982 in Paris to American parents, has recorded and performed around the world with some of the leading lights in jazz and classical music, from Lee Konitz to Renée Fleming, and released eleven albums of his own in solo, duo and trio formats.
Tepfer earned global acclaim for his 2011 release Goldberg Variations / Variations, a disc that sees him performing J.S. Bach’s masterpiece as well as improvising upon it—to “elegant, thoughtful and thrilling” effect (New York magazine). Tepfer’s 2019 video album Natural Machines stands as one of his most ingeniously forward-minded yet, finding him exploring in real time the intersection between science and art, coding and improvisation, digital algorithms and the rhythms of the heart. The New York Times has called him “a deeply rational improviser drawn to the unknown.” His 2023 return to Bach, Inventions / Reinventions, an exploration of the narrative processes behind Bach’s beloved Inventions, became a best-seller, spending two weeks in the #1 spot on the Billboard Classical Charts.

George Poe
Born:
Born in Houston, Texas, George has always been a lover of music. In grade school he learned to play the trumpet in the school band. By high school, he had joined a small jazz combo, which allowed him to refine his tonal vocabulary on pieces from Steely Dan, Chicago, and Maynard Ferguson's band. But despite his love for the solos of Ferguson, Miles Davis, and Chuck Mangione, he eventually moved his focus from trumpet to piano. In so doing, he discovered a realm of musical possibilities open up to him. This was due largely to the fact that he could play the multiple notes of chords simultaneously instead of the single tones of the trumpet. Fueled by an insatiable appetite for melodic arranging and songwriting, he immersed himself in the craft

Robert Parker
Born:
Robert Parker's Blurbs About me: Musician since age of 7. For me, music is a magic that has always been and will always be. To play is always a question of when, not if. I hear it when there is nothing going on. I feel beats during any moment of silence. I am blessed with a decent means to express some of what I hear. These days, I play piano primarily for my own enjoyment, although people pay me quite well to enjoy what it is that I MUST do. At times, I have tried to abandon my Art like a deadbeat Dad, but it doesn't last. Forever blessed with the curse of the "I've-got-to-play"
