Ben Winkelman

Born: February 27, 1973

Ben Winkelman is a jazz pianist and composer living in New York City. His writing explores diverse musical interests filtered through a jazz perspective: Afro-Cuban, gospel and classical music, with a focus on Latin rhythms in odd meters.

He will be touring the US and Canada in April 2019 to celebrate the release of his fifth album Balance, featuring Matt Penman and Obed Calvaire, on OA2 Records.

Ben has released five trio albums to wide acclaim: his second, The Spanish Tinge, won the AIR Award for Best Independent Jazz Release; his first was nominated for an Australian Jazz Bell Award; and his third and fourth albums were nominated for AIR Awards. His work has been supported by grants from the Australia Council and other arts organizations, and he was a finalist in the Australian National Jazz Awards. He has toured in Europe, Asia and extensively in Australia.

Davide Santorsola

Born: May 8, 1961

Self taught from the age of eight, in 1991 Davide received his degree in the Discipline of Art, Music and Shows-Performance at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1996 he won the “First Prize Jazz Section G. Gershwin Award” at the International Piano Competition Ibla-New York Grand Prize. Beginning in the mid 1970’s he carried out intensive concert activity and participated in several competitions, as well as numerous international jazz festivals doing tours outside of Europe and also in the U.S.A. and in Japan. Davide has collaborated with various musicians, among which are Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Urbie Green, Benny Golson, Dave Liebman

Richard Pellegrin

Rich Pellegrin began playing piano at the age of five, but spent his teenage years preoccupied with drums and percussion. He pursued a diversity of musical endeavors before discovering the beautiful creative process of jazz and improvised music. Rich's playing is noted for its intensity, conviction, directness of expression, and percussive yet sonorous tone quality. His debut record, Three-Part Odyssey, was released on Origin’s OA2 label in February of 2011, and features some of the most exciting and forward-looking musicians of Seattle’s younger generation. All About Jazz critic Dan McClenaghan praised its sound as being “remarkably original,” and commented: “Pellegrin seems to have multiple influences, displaying at times the density and drive and penchant for repetition of pianist McCoy Tyner, elsewhere sounding free and unpredictable, like no one but himself on this superb debut.”

Jobic Le Masson

Born: 1968

Jobic Le Masson was born in France in 1968 and started his musical education at the age of seven at the Conservatory. Age sixteen he moved to the US on his own and attended the Greenwich High School in Connecticut where he studied music theory and composition. In 1987 he attended the Berklee School of Music and returned to Paris after graduating in 1990. Besides his activity as a teacher, Jobic dedicates his time to composing, arranging and performing. He has been part of many projects and recordings with musicians Arnaud Sacase, Gwen Sampé, Benjamin Duboc, Didier Lasserre, Aldridge Hansberry, Sebastien Buchholz, Christine Flowers, MJ Williams, Longineu Parsons. From 2006 on, he has been performing in trio with Peter Giron and John Betsch (HILL, 2008, Enja Records). Since 2012, Steve Potts has been a regular member added to the trio (album SONG to come out in October 2016, Enja Records). Patrick Battstone

Born: July 23, 1954

Patrick Battstone Dec 2010 Patrick Battstone began performing music professionally at the age of 14, playing in various rock, blues, and R&B bands in South Western Ohio. By the time he was 18, he had received lessons from Stan Kenton and Gary Burton, had been mentored by Oscar Treadwell (Oska T), and had played with James Brown’s recording sidemen as well as members of the musical “Hair”. In 1973, he attended Berklee College of Music and soon after became a student of both Mme Chaloff and Charlie Banacos. During this time he performed at various Boston venues, both as a solo pianist, and as a member of various ensembles

David Lopato

David Lopato's music reflects an involvement with such diverse forms as modern jazz, stride piano, avant-garde classical music, blues, latin and various world musics, most notably those of Indonesia, where he has lived and studied Javanese gamelan. His love of these seemingly disparate traditions has resulted in a body of music that is both universal and personal. Although his main instrument is piano, his interest in other, more exotic timbres has led him to explore new techniques for "preparing" the piano, as well as incorporate other percussion instruments and electronics into his work

Farid Barron

Bradley Williams

Born: December 12, 1960

Bradley Williams - Chicago-based pianist, composer, vocalist and producer. He is a Grammy-nominated pianist/arranger for Woody Herman's Thundering Herd, with whom he toured in the mid 1980s. After settling in Chicago he brought his talents to such classic venues as The Green Mill and The Gold Star Sardine Bar (serving there as musical director.)

He currently leads his own Quartet at Le Piano in Chicago on Saturday nights, performing as a vocalist and pianist. His own compostions are featured alongside great jazz standards and unknown gems.

In the world of broadcasting he was co-host/creator of the internationally syndicated "Words and Music" program
