Fusion Point

Fusion Point is a project of the St.-Petersburg pianist Kirill Sokirko. Fusion Point continues the tradition of chamber music in a trio format, which does not so much define the number of performers as the instruments used – piano, bass, and drums. The band plays in the style of fusion – an appropriate label, given the fact that the musicians work between several sub-genres, including jazz-rock, smooth-jazz, funk, and trip hop, along with nu-jazz, lounge, and even some older genres like cool, be-bop, and mainstream/swing. However, since the contemporary understanding of fusion is more often associated with jazz-rock, some critics would say the band's style is better described as modern-jazz

Tyson Naylor

Pianist and keyboardist Tyson Naylor has firmly established himself as one of Vancouver’s most compelling musical talents. He is a member of Vancouver bands Dan Mangan, the Crackling, Francois Houle’s Living Ditches, the Tyson Naylor Trio, and the Abramson Singers, with whom he did a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2011. Tyson has made numerous appearances at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, with artists such as Tony Wilson, Bruce Freedman, and The Crackling. He’s toured throughout Canada, Germany and Poland. Over the course of the last decade, Matt has produced a series of critically-acclaimed recordings, premiered his works in settings from New York's Central Park to Germany's Köln Philharmonie, collaborated with top classical, jazz and pop artists, and has performed at music festivals across the globe. Michael Palma

Berklee College of Music graduate Michael Adam Palma is a powerhouse pianist, composer, educator and producer living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Palma has played with heavy hitters such as Wynton Marsalis, Greg Osby, Mark Turner, Jimmy Cobb, Tootie Health, George Garzone, Roy Hargrove, Jason Palmer, Jiggs Whigman, Paquito D'Rivera, Ralph Peterson, Rich Perry and Hal Crook. He has toured the United States as well as Japan, Spain, and France. Palma spent one year in Brooklyn, New York where he performed at iconic venues including The Blue Note, Cafe Vivaldi, and Kitano. He has been a featured artist at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Beantown Jazz Festival, Gene Harris Jazz Festival, and Denton Arts and Jazz Festival as well as several international jazz festivals in both France and Japan.

In 2011, Palma served as a faculty member at the prestigious University of North Texas in their Jazz Studies Department

Dennis Hamm

Pianist, composer, teacher, Dennis Hamm began playing professionally at age 18 and has since worked with a diverse mix of artists. The albums Hamm appears on are a testament to his versatility. In the last three years Hamm was featured on albums as varied as MTV's Rock the Cradle winner Crosby Loggins' (son of Kenny Loggins) Indy Pop/Rock album "We All Go Home", the Prog-Rock Jazz Fusion of guitarist Greg Howe's "Sound Proof", in support of which Hamm toured Europe in late 2008, Katisse Buckingham's genre bending mix of hip-hop and modern jazz on "Lyrical Worker", and an upcoming modern country release by American Idol finalist Amy Adams, which Hamm also produced. Rich Harney has been illuminating the Austin jazz scene as one of its brightest stars for the last decade. His remarkable talents as pianist, composer, and vocalist have gained him acclaim from the Austin American-Statesman as “one of Austin’s most valuable musical resources.” The Austin Jazz Players and Critics Poll honored him in 1993 as Composer of the Year, Best Songwriter, and Best Male Jazz Vocalist. He also received second place honors in the Austin Music Umbrella’s 1992 Composer Competition. Jim E. Holman

Tuomo Uusitalo is an award-winning pianist, composer, arranger and educator. Having released 6 albums as a leader, and appearing on numerous albums as a sideman, he has established himself in the New York jazz scene, and continues touring internationally both as a leader as well as sideman.

Currently Tuomo resides in Helsinki, Finland.

Born in Tampere, Finland, Tuomo Uusitalo started to play piano at the age of 6.  As a teenager he played different types of music from classical to pop/rock, and soon became fascinated by Jazz and the thrilling possibilities of spontaneous improvisation.
