Tom White

Born:

Tom White double-majored at the University of Rhode Island in B.S. Biological Sciences and B.A. Jazz Studies. He has been playing the piano since the age of four. Tom studied with several teachers during his childhood before studying for five years with grammy-nominated pianist Joseph Parillo at URI. He has also begun studies with Paul Nagel. During recent years Tom has amassed a growing body of original instrumental music. During the summer of 2010 eight of his earlier tunes were recorded as Tom's debut effort titled "Portrait of a Blue Man". The album is beginning to see airplay on NPR-member radio stations as well as college radio broadcasts. Tom White performs regularly with guitarist Alex Curnow, bassist Kyle Barboza, and drummer Paul DiMartino in The Wayout, a quartet focused on bringing adventurous original music to their audiences

Oren Levine

Oren Levine grew up with a love of music, especially jazz, inherited from his father. He started piano lessons as an eight-year-old in Washington, DC, and continued to play while earning two engineering degrees and building a career as an engineer and technology manager. He wrote his first song at age 45 in a summer jazz workshop in Vermont and released his first album of original songs, “Making Up For Lost Time,” in 2018.

His song “Let’s Wander” from the album won him the 2023 ASCAP Foundation Alan and Marilyn Bergman Lyric Award. The title track won a Finalist award in the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.

Jerry Tolson

Jerry Tolson has been a member of the music faculty at the University of Louisville since 1993. As professor of jazz studies and music education, he directs instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles and teaches jazz pedagogy, jazz style, and jazz history classes. As a performer on keyboards, woodwinds, and vocals, Tolson leads three of his own groups and has worked with such popular artists as the Temptations, Four Tops, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, and Manhattan Transfer, and with jazz artists Delfeayo Marsalis, Don Braden, Antonio Hart, Rufus Reid, Kevin Mahogany, Sunny Wilkinson, Pete Christlieb, Phil Wilson, James Moody, Benny Golson, Grace Kelly, and Marvin Stamm

Iñaki Sandoval is one of the top Spanish pianists and composers. Born in Pamplona, Spain, he is a graduate of the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, Berklee College of Music in Boston, and University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Iñaki is an accomplished artist – trained in both classical and jazz music. Currently Iñaki resides in Barcelona, where he combines his artistic activity with pedagogy. Denny Euprasert

Recipient of the Silpathorn Contemporary Artist Award 2009, jazz pianist and composer, Denny Euprasert, is currently the Dean of Rangsit University Conservatory of Music and the conductor of RSU Jazz Orchestra. He is a Yamaha Artist endorsing Yamaha acoustic pianos and Yamaha keyboards. Denny earned a Doctorate degree in Music Theory and Composition with a secondary emphasis in Jazz Pedagogy from University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from University of North Texas, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Jazz Piano Performance from Cornish College of the Arts, USA. Having performed with David Liebman, Nicholas Payton, Maria Schneider, Bob Brookmeyer, Deborah Brown, Kenny Wheeler, Mike Stern, Chris Minh Doky, Joris Teepe, Benny Golson, and Eric Marienthal, he is also featured regularly as a piano soloist with symphony orchestras. Recent festival appearances as a leader include headlining at the Bangkok Jazz Festival, the Hua Hin Jazz Festival, and the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taiwan. Denny's CD "Masterpiece" received the Kom Chad Luek Award for Best Instrumental Album 2008; the album features unique jazz arrangements of Asanee-Wason's music. He has composed numerous works for piano solo, piano and orchestra, chamber groups, chorus, jazz ensemble, jazz orchestra, voice and piano, and contemporary media.

Sunnie Paxson

Sunnie Paxson is an innovative contemporary jazz pianist, composer, producer and performer. She is known for her driving performances and memorable melodies. In the past, she has toured with Stanley Clarke and shared the stage with many jazz greats. Her compositions and performances can be heard in feature films and television. Paxson achieved significant domestic and international success with her debut solo album, Groove Suite. She was as voted one of Los Angeles’ Best Jazz Performers in Los Angeles Magazine. Her recent “Bohemian Sun” CD, released on Stanley Clarke’s Roxboro Entertainment label and recorded with Stanley Clarke and Ronald Brunner, Jr is show of her solid jazz roots.

Brent Runnels Executive and Artistic Director Brent Runnels directs the Jazz Orchestra Atlanta big band. He has fashioned a broad and diverse musical career as a performer, arts administrator, educator and musical entrepreneur. As a pianist Brent Runnels has won critical acclaim for his performances in the US, Europe, Australia and Russia as an orchestral and recital soloist, chamber musician, and jazz pianist. He is the top-award winner of the New Orleans International Piano Competition and the Jacksonville Classical Piano Competition.
