Jim E. Holman

Pianist Jim Holman grew up performing in the chicago's finest jazz clubs since he was sixteen. he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh's jazz studies program under the tutelage of Jazz Messenger alums Nathan Davis and Leon Lee Dorsey as well as Frank Cunimondo. Holman has had an array of compositions and arrangements performed by orchestra and varying jazz ensemble sizes, styles ranging from classical, jazz, and third stream to funk, and post fusion styles. he has played with outstanding icons such as Ira Sullivan, Mark Whitfield, Claudio Roditi, Antonio Hart, Jimmy Owens, Abe Laboriel, Roger Humpries, Cecil Bridgewater, Ron Affif, Yotam Silberstein, Alexander King, John Moulder, Frank Catalano, Donald Harrison His debute CD Explosion! is on Delmark Records and Features Catalano and Richie cole. Holman has also recorded with Ira Sullivan.
