Kate Skinner

Jazz pianist and vocalist Kate Skinner maintains an active performing, composing, and teaching career in the western United States.  A native of Ogden, Utah, Skinner pulls influences from the bluegrass and classical roots of her childhood into both her songwriting and performing as a jazz musician.  In her teenage and college years, Kate delved into R&B, funk, and hip hop, genres that also continually find their way into her musical explorations helping to create her own unique voice.  Part of this unique voice is an obsession with alternative keyboard instruments and a study of the great keyboardists of jazz, rock, and funk.

CLASSIC HARD-SWINGING JAZZ IN THE MIDWEST

Affinity Trio consists of Eric Jacobson on trumpet, Clay Schaub on bass, and Pamela York on piano. Individually, they have worked with some of the biggest names in the jazz world: Benny Golson, Phil Woods, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, Bruce Barth, Brian Lynch, Greg Tardy, Frank Morgan, etc. 

The trio has held a regular Monday night residency at the Mason Street Grill in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since 2021. Performing without a drummer, Affinity Trio creates an intimate ambience with a strong rhythmic groove. Their repertoire includes standards from the Great American Songbook, original music, and bebop.

Ronald Van Deurzen is an acclaimed pianist & composer who creates contemporary instrumental & cinematic music. He uses a wide variation of instrumental backing, ranging from orchestra to world instruments and synthesizers.

Ronald's music frequently draws inspiration from genres such classical, jazz and global fusion. In addition, he has collaborated with numerous bands (folkrock / prog) and live orchestra, and releases his own albums and singles. Uziel Colón is a pianist, arranger, and composer whose remarkable talent has earned him a well-established name as a prominent musician in the music industry. Throughout the years, his passion for music has driven him to reach new heights in his musical career, giving him the opportunity to perform with many great names including renowned percussionist Eguie Castrillo, legendary vibraphonist Victor Mendoza, percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo and Marc Quiñones, trumpet players Greg Hopkins and Humberto Ramirez, and accomplished bassists Oscar Stagnaro, Oskar Cartaya, and Abraham Laboriel. 

Christianne Neves

Christianne Neves is a Brazilian jazz pianist, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, and musical director. A passionate creative artist, Christianne has released four original instrumental music albums: Refúgio (2000), Duas Madrugadas (2005), Eyin Okan (2011) and Noite e Dias (2022). Her sophisticated compositions feature complex, unexpected harmonies and a rich texture of rhythms ranging from Latin American to African. She has also released two albums of arrangements: Andata e Ritorno (2014), with Italian and Brazilian artists and artistic production by Max de Tomassi of Italian network RAI, and Retalhos do Brasil (2017), a piano and voice collaboration with 13 Brazilian singers.

Teri Parker

Born: April 1, 1986

Teri Parker (MA, BMus) is a jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader based in Toronto, Canada. Born into a musical family, Parker gravitated towards the rich history and creative possibilities of jazz while still in high school; when it came time to apply for post-secondary schooling, she was accepted into the University of Toronto’s prestigious Jazz Studies program. It was at U of T that Parker had the opportunity to study with prominent educators who would prove foundational in her development as an artist, including celebrated instrumentalists and composers such as Dave Restivo, David Braid, and Phil Nimmons, Director Emeritus of Jazz Studies. After graduating from U of T, Parker continued her studies independently; as the winner of successive grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council, she was able to continue learning with world-renowned artists in New York and Europe, including Sophia Rosoff, Aaron Goldberg, Guillermo Klein, Fred Hersch, and Enrico Pieranunzi.
