Jon Crowley

Born: August 14, 1982

Forward-thinking trumpeter and composer, Jon Crowley was born in Malvern PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, in 1982. He began studying the trumpet at age six with Elin Frazier, a student of Carmine Caruso. While in high school he developed an interest in Jazz and began attending local jam sessions and sitting in with various musicians around Philadelphia. Jon spent the next four years attending Muhlenberg College, studying Jazz with Charles Fambrough and John Swana. After Graduating with his B.A. in Music, Jon went straight to New York City, where he attended NYU, graduating in the Spring of '07; receiving his Masters in Jazz Performance and Composition

Don Glanden

Born: October 9, 1951

Don Glanden was born in 1951 in Wilmington, Delaware. He began traditional classical piano lessons at the age of ten with Sarah Miller; within a year he was accompanying the elementary school chorus. He was immediately drawn to jazz after hearing Charles Freeman, the family piano tuner, play blues and standards at the conclusion of his regular tunings. A friend of trumpeter Clifford Brown, Mr. Freeman proved to be an inspiring and encouraging influence. Behn Gillece

Born: February 9, 1982

Having spent many years deeply embedded in the vibrant jazz scenes of New York and Philadelphia, Behn Gillece has carved out a distinguished reputation as both a virtuosic vibraphonist and a prolific composer. Drawing inspiration from luminaries like Milt Jackson, Gary Burton, and Bobby Hutcherson, Gillece has dedicated himself to pushing the boundaries of vibraphone artistry while leaving an indelible mark on the jazz landscape as a composer. Hailing from New Jersey, Gillece honed his craft through numerous performance opportunities in his home state and Philadelphia before making the leap to New York City in 2006. Since then, he has solidified his status as a sought-after sideman, as well as a formidable bandleader and recording artist.

Adam Berenson

Classically-influenced jazz pianist/composer Adam Berenson has been described by author and Juilliard professor David Dubal as: "what is needed in our over specialized society— a true polyartist— Pianist, Playwright, Composer, Teacher, Humanist, and a man to get to know because in his smooth, respectful style, Mr. Berenson has a lot to show and tell us about art, behavior, and the ability to survive with humor in a harsh and rough time where we have decided art is not of utmost importance." Justin Faulkner

Justin Faulkner constantly performs in the Philadelphia area with some of the world's best known artists. He studies classical music with Sam Ruttenburg at the Settlement Music School and is trained in jazz at the Kimmel Center and Clef Club on the Avenue of the Arts. He plays regularly at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts with the Youth Jazz Ensemble. He is also the current premier and house drummer for the Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts. In addition to performance, he is seen playing every Sunday at the West Park Church in Philadelphia, PA. He currently plays with the J Tyme Experience which is his own personal group, Terrence Brown Quartet, Will Wright Quartet, Rohm and Hass Jazz Ensemble, the Orrin Evans Trio, the Paul Sipio Sextet and various other groups

Jim Holton

Jim Holton has performed extensively in the Delaware Valley, New York and New Jersey with several groups including the critically acclaimed "Rhythm and Brass" and the "Joe Sudler Swing Machine", which backed artists such as Jon Faddis, Clark Terry, Slide Hampton and Al Grey. The musicians he has worked with over the years include bassists Tyrone Brown, Mike Boone, Lee Smith and Charles Fambrough; drummers Byron Landham, Mickey Roker, Billy James, Dave Gibson and Cornell Rochester; horn players John Swana, Bob Howell, Bootsy Barnes and Larry McKenna.

Calvin Weston

Born: June 6, 1959

G Calvin Weston was born June 6, 1959 in Philadelphia, PA. He became interested in drums at the age of 6, when he (and his neighbors) discovered his talent for rhythm as he beat on every car on the block. He lived in North Philadelphia where he saw musicians like Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five and James Brown at the Uptown Theatre. Seeing his attention focused on the drummers, his Father bought him a small set. In high school Calvin learned to read music and played second snare in the drum ensemble. He co-founded the group Bad Influence which played in cabarets and clubs around Philadelphia. At 17, Calvin joined Ornette Coleman's Prime Time Band, with bass player Jamalaadean Tacuma, his close friend from Philly, which toured extensively in North America and Europe

Victor Bailey

Born: March 27, 1960

Victor Bailey was born in Philadelphia, on March 27, 1960 into a musical family so there was music playing constantly from the moment he arrived on the planet. His dad, Morris Bailey Jr., is a master composer, arranger, producer, saxophonist, artist and teacher. During the 60's, 70's and 80's his songs were recorded by some of music's greatest R&B artists including, Patti LaBelle, The Stylistics, Blue Magic, The Spinners, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and international artist Nina Simone. As a saxophonist he played with cats like McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Smith, Lee Morgan and Reggie Workman. Tom Lawton

Tom Lawton grew up in Arcola, PA and attended Methacton High School (remarkable only in that I attended the same school at that time), where he was a brilliant, but chronically truant student. He displayed great promise as a classical pianist, dabbled in British Rock and Roll, and eventually fell into Jazz. He was abbetted in his early education by Philly legend Gerald Price, who gave Tom his early pointers in the art. He later began studies in Philadelphia with renowned pianist Bernard Peiffer, who had emigrated here from France. Possessing an easy, effortless style that swings, Kevin's treatment of standards conveys an understanding of the culmination of melody, rhythm and lyric. While he loves standards, he does not think that they should be held in such esteem that they cannot grow and evolve. "Standards are not defined as being written between 1910 and 1950, they were just the pop tunes of that day. Rodgers and Hart wrote standards but so did Linda Creed and Thom Bell.
