Jens Thoresen is a busy guitarist, composer and arranger. He is a regular member of the big band Ensemble Denada, and a freelancer who has composed a lot fro TV, radio, theater and film. Whether it is pop, rock or jazz, Jens Thoresen is the guitarist many are calling up to have on the team. He has toured around the world with different bands and musicians. He has also collaborated with Nick Kershaw, Chesney Hawkes and Michael Jay.

Erik Smith

Erik Smith is one of Europe's most respected and versatile drummers. Inspired by his father and mother´s music making, he started out playing piano and drums at the age of 3 and before he was big enough to sit behind a regular drum set, he built his own set from boxes, cans and toy cymbals. At the age of 12 he became the regular drummer with his fathers band playing a wide variety of styles. At 14, Erik got into the clubs and studios of Norway´s capital Oslo to start his almost 30 year long professional career. His extensive work has involved studio sessions, countless TV shows, tours, shows and musicals as well as leading his own bands and receiving the highest honor in Norwegian music, the Spellemann award, Norway's "Grammy" as part of the legendary big band "Oslo Groove Company." Erik has worked with the majority of artists and entertainers on the Scandinavian scene as well as many well known artists such as Michael Bolton, Art Garfunkel, Neil Sedaka, Josh Groban, Donna Summer, Engelbert Humperdinck, John Miles, Boney M, Johnny Logan, Wenche Myhre, Lisa Nilsson, Samantha Fox, Carlene Carter, Al Jearrau, Randy Crawford, Frank Gambale, Bobby Shew, Andy Sheppard, Eddie Daniels, Niels Landgren, Bart Van Lier, Bill Champlin, Phil Woods, Putte Wickman, Ed Palermo, Django Bates, Bob Mintzer, Hector Bingert, DeeDee Bridgewater and Gerald Wilson

Andreas Loven is a pianist and composer from Oslo, Norway, signed to the acclaimed Norwegian jazz label Losen Records. He departed from his career in engineering, moved to South Africa and ventured into jazz in his early twenties. He has since performed extensively all over South Africa with artists such as Shane Cooper, Mandla Mlangeni, Buddy Wells, Keenan Ahrends, Jonno Sweetman, Nick Williams, Romy Brauteseth, Clement Benny and others. Recent performances in Europe include Oslo Jazz Festival, Canal Street and the National Jazz Scene. In January 2015, Andreas released his debut album, Nangijala, to high critical acclaim at Losen Records

Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit

Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit was established summer of 2013 and consists of Norway´s younger generation of improvising musicians. First release is “First Blow”, a live recording from Molde Jazzfestival 2013; both on vinyl 12” EP and CD that are both sold out (!). Second out is a 4-LP box set and 3-CD box with material recorded during a tour of Norway in January/February 2014, which was released in October 2014, called "Erta Ale". Summer of 2014 saw the band busy at Moers Festival, Kongsberg Jazzfestival and the Blow Out festival in Oslo. Reviews from Moers claimed PNL Large Unit as one of the highlights of the festival

Andreas Backer

Andreas Backer grew up in Oslo, and started playing the trumpet in his teenage-years. He continued studying the trumpet and music in general during music high school, and further on through music education the following years. At the age of 22 he decided to change his main instrument from trumpet to voice. 2004-2008 Backer studied jazz vocals, piano and composition in Stavanger, Norway. 2008-2010 he continued his education with a Masters degree in performing vocals, improvisation and composition at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. 2011-2012 he studied composition/instrumentation at The Norwegian Academy of Music. As a singer/vocalist, composer, arranger, improviser, pianist and lyricist Andreas Backer has released “Like the music isn’t there”, with Andreas Backer Trio and “Vardag” with Ester & Andreas

Silent Velcro

The ensemble Silent Velcro is a mirror image of Anders Hofstad Sørås’ musical universe. The music is instrumental and cinematic - a blend of rock, prog, roots and jazz, called ”Doom-Americana”. This is rock music stirred through a hot Texas chili stew, performed with the attitude of the modern Norwegian jazz musician. The musicians on the record are merited on the Norwegian and Scandinavian music scene. They contribute with both versatility and strong personal expressions. Resembling artists might be Earth, Daniel Lanois, Bushman’s Revenge, Dirty Three and Tortoise, among others. Erik Honore

Erik Honoré, born 1966, is a musician, producer and author from Kristiansand, Norway. Honoré has worked with artists like David Sylvian, Jon Hassell, J. Peter Schwalm/Brian Eno, Sidsel Endresen, Jan Bang, Nils Petter Molvær, Arve Henriksen, Christian Wallumrød, Elsewhere, Unni Wilhelmsen, Velvet Belly and Eivind Aarset. Much of this work has been in collaboration with long time musical partner Jan Bang. Erik has composed music for theatre, including the Norwegian National Theatre, and film. He has written three novels published by Gyldendal, Norway’s largest publishing house. Erik Honoré has received one Norwegian "Grammy” for Album of the Year (Velvet Belly: "Lucia") and one nomination, and was nominated for the Southern Norway Literary Prize for his debut novel "Orakelveggen"
