Andreas Pålsson

Andreas studied percussion at the Malmö College of Music, and he is currently the principal percussionist in the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. Andreas is an autodidact organ player that has emerged on the scandinavian jazz scene during the last few years. The Andreas Pålsson trio has just released their first album, in addition to performing with his own band, he has also played in the Zoltan Csörsz Jazz Trio.

The Young Lizards

The Young Lizards are a Seattle jazz-collective super-group aimed at taking over the world with their accessible yet complex harmonic grooves. They have transformed the traditional jazz organ quartet by venturing into the rich, contemporary sounds of tunes such as Jaco Pastorius' Three Views of a Secret and compositions by John Coltrane, Joe Henderson and Woody Shaw and even originals. Melvin is best known for his long friendship and musical partnership with cultural icon and guitarist Jerry Garcia and the smile of his that lights up the room. Vito Di Modugno

Nato a Bari, ha intrapreso giovanissimo gli studi musicali sotto la guida del padre (Pino Di Modugno noto fisarmonicista) studiando pianoforte, organo, basso elettrico e contrabbasso. La sua prima esibizione in pubblico è avvenuta all’età di cinque anni e nel 1973 ha debuttato ufficialmente nell’orchestra del padre. Ha studiato pianoforte col M.° Binetti conseguendo il diploma nel 1984, e nello stesso anno è stato premiato al concorso "Coppa Pianisti d'Italia". Ha frequentato inoltre alcuni corsi di perfezionamento pianistico con i M.stri Medori e Caporali, dei seminari jazzistici con Michael Brecker e Pat Metheny, i corsi di Siena Jazz e ha conseguito il diploma in Jazz nel 1996 col M.° Ottaviano. Dal 1996 al “99 è stato in tournee con Patty Pravo, partecipando alla realizzazione di due cd e un dvd. Nel 2003 è stato eletto tra i migliori nuovi talenti nel referendum “Top Jazz” indetto dalla rivista “Musica Jazz”. Ha suonato come solista con l’Orchestra Sinfonica “Arturo Toscanini” di Parma diretta dal M° Beppe D’Onghia, interpretando il concerto per gruppo e orchestra sinfonica dei Deep Purple composto dall’organista Jon Lord. Ha tenuto dei concerti negli Stati Uniti con i sassofonisti Jerry Bergonzi e Carol Sudhalter, il chitarrista Bill Wurtzel, l’organista Radam Schwartz, le cantanti Sarah McLawler e Madame Pat Tandy. Nel corso della sua attività concertistica ha collaborato inoltre con musicisti di fama internazionale come Dionne Warwick, Jeff Berlin, Dennis Chambers, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Michael Mossman, Irio De Paula, Tony Scott, Rachel Gould, Dave Liebman, Urbie Green, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Gianni Basso, Tullio De Piscopo, Andrea Braido, Eddy Palermo, Gigi Cifarelli, Fabio Zeppetella ecc… Dal 2002 incide per la prestigiosa etichetta “Red Records” realizzando in veste di leader i cd “Organ Grooves”, “Organ Trio”, “Organ Trio vol.2” e di prossima pubblicazione "East Side Blue" con la collaborazione del sassofonista americano Jerry Bergonzi. Dave Braham

Dave Braham plays swinging, soulful organ in the tradition of Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes and Jimmy Smith. On his first outing as a leader he shows that he is one of the most underrated and clearly one of the best jazz organists on the scene today. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dave has carved out a solid reputation playing as a featured sideman with Houston Person, Etta Jones, Willis Gatortail Jackson, Mark Murphy, Johnny Lytle, Irene Reid, Al Grey, Ernestine Anderson, and David Fathead Newman. He has recorded two CDs with Houston Person and Etta Jones and also with Mark Murphy, Johnny Lytle, Lou Donaldson, Al Grey and more recently appears on saxophonist Nat Simpkins "Spare Ribs" and guitarist Eric Johnson's "Makin Whoopie" both on Bluejay Records

Melvin Rhyne

Melvin Rhyne was born in Indianapolis in 1936 and started playing the piano shortly thereafter. At 19 years old, Rhyne started playing piano with then-unknown tenor saxophonist Rahsaan Roland Kirk but quickly switched over to the instrument that would make him famous: the Hammond B3 organ. Rhyne's piano skills translated to the organ fluently and before long he was backing famous blues players like B.B. King and T-Bone Walker. In 1959 when he was asked to join fellow Indianapolis musician Wes Montgomery's newly formed trio. Rhyne then moved to Wisconsin and largely kept to himself for the next two decades

Roy Powell studied piano and avant-garde composition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester England before defecting to jazz. He first came to prominence in 1994 with his debut recording A Big Sky which was hailed as “a real bench mark in British contemporary electric jazz” by Jazz on CD He then emigrated to Oslo, Norway where he collaborated on an album of free improvised music �" Holus which was described as “ an outstanding success” by Jazz journal International. His next release as a leader- North by Northwest featuring Norwegian bassist Arild Andersen has also been a critical success as well as being selected as Best Jazz CD of 2001 by Amazon.co.uk

Vanessa Rodrigues

Recently relocated to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Vanessa Rodrigues is an accomplished pianist, music educator, and is also one of Canada’s most promising young jazz organists. Vanessa has shared the stage with acclaimed international artists such as Brazilian guitarist Ricardo Silveira, Peruvian bass virtuoso Oscar Stagnaro, saxophonist Ronnie Cuber and trumpeter Randy Brecker, and has studied under Hammond B-3 organist Dr. Lonnie Smith and Colombian Salsa pianist Jaime Henao. She has performed across Canada, Europe and Brazil, and founded a popular yearly jazz organ jam session in Montreal, at which she counts organist Joey DeFrancesco and saxophonist Kenny Garrett among her guests. Vanessa has released 5 albums as a leader: Soul Project (2005); Gale/Rodrigues Group Live at the Rex (2007); Soul Food for Thought (2009); Buckaloose: the 270 Sessions (2010); and Buckaloose: Live at Upstairs (2013); and is the organist on Brazilian guitarist Ricardo Silveira's album "Organ tRio" (2013).
