MINDTHEGAP Trio

INDTHEGAP is an instrumental piano trio born in Transylvania that belongs to the new generation of cross genre Romanian jazz groups, with a unique style defined by a complex sound reminding of film music, nu jazz, fusion and progressive rock.
Despite the classic format of the trio (keys, bass and drums), MINDTHEGAP’s music creates a genuine blend of varied genres by using a modern approach of playing classical instruments, but also by adding different elements from electronic, rock and world music. 
Created by Ştefan ORMENIŞAN (composer, keys) in 2023 together with two young musicians, Alex CIOATĂ (composer, bass) and Tamás ISZLAI (drums), MINDTHEGAP has quickly gained recognition, playing at prestigious festivals in Romania, such as Garana Jazz Fest, Electric Castle, Jazz in the Park Competition and many others

Dr. Scott Routenberg enjoys a versatile and prolific career as an award-winning composer, arranger, jazz pianist and educator.  For over two decades, Routenberg's music has garnered widespread critical acclaim, with JAZZIZ hailing the artist as a "rising-star pianist" who has "found his own voice in the modern mainstream."

 In 2004, Scott was the first jazz songwriter to win the coveted John Lennon Songwriting Contest Maxell Song of the Year. Other notable awards and honors include The ASCAP Foundation/Symphonic Jazz Orchestra Commissioning Prize (2016), the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers Symposium SONIC Award for Best Arrangement (2017), Composer Scholar at the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles, the ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Award (three-time winner), participant in the ASCAP Television and Film Scoring Workshop in L.A. where he received the ASCAP David Rose Scholarship and the DownBeat Student Award for Best Extended Length Composition.

Ash Luo is a drummer, composer, producer and photographer. Her musical inspirations embrace Spiritual Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Jazz Fusion and Eastern music. In her composition, Luo values the flow of groove and melody, the melancholy and soul-provoking improvisation lines and rich texture of sounds. Nadine Axisa is an established versatile singer, with a passion for smooth jazz, latin, swing and soul music. She received vocal training in classical singing at a young age and discovered her love for jazz music through the performance in clubs and bars in her late teens. Nadine studied jazz classics, attended and followed a number of workshops with acclaimed tutors including Tina May, Iain Mackenzie, Guillermo Rozenthuler, Donna Mc Elroy, Dennis Montgomery III and Anne Peckham. She later pursued her studies at the Johann Strauss School of Music with Joe Debono. Nadine released her debut album 'Velvet' in 2014 featuring twelve original tracks, mostly composed by Maltese composers and authors in the smooth jazz style
