Pianist James Austin Jr. traveled from his hometown of Chicago to New York City to tackle Jazz on its highest level after surprising himself as a semifinalist in the 2006 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Piano Competition at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. That day, James met many prestigious icons – Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and George Duke. But it is Stevie Wonder that left the most indelible impression on James – before, during and after that day. And it is Stevie Wonder’s incomparable songbook that Austin salutes on his debut as a leader: the scintillating, self-released 10-song set, Songs in the Key of Wonder.

Andreas Toftemark

Born: December 19, 1990

Andreas Toftemark, Ba - New School 2018/ European Jazz Master 2023, and Recipient of the Bent Jædig award 2023. After 9 years abroad in Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin and 4 years in New York Andreas has returned to Europe and has now established himself as one of the leading young saxophonists in this country.

Andreas has had the opportunity to perform with internationally recognized musicians such as;  Benny Benack, Kaisa Maensivu, Joe Peri, Rasmus Sørensen, Felix Moseholm, Francesco Ciniglio Rodney Green, and Ethan Iversen, Peter Bernstein, Vanisha Gould and Michael Valeanu and performed in countries including England, Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Finland, France, Brazil, the Netherlands, Spain and the United States.

Nobuki Takamen

Born: May 17, 1977

Guitarist/composer Nobuki Takamen was born in Hiroshima, Japan. Jazz historian Scott Yanow describes him as ''an excellent improviser in his own bop-inspired style.'' John Heidt of Vintage Guitar Magazine has also called him ''a mature player with keen sense of composition [and] considerable technical skill.'' A mainstay of the New York jazz scene, Nobuki has toured with his group in North America and Europe, performing at some of the best international jazz festivals and clubs including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, Blue Note NY, Iridium Jazz Club, Blues Alley and Smalls Jazz Club

Sten Hostfalt

Born: December 14, 1962

Manifested in a four-decade innovative commitment to music, via exploration of the parameter of pitch, and self-invented instrumental techniques, contributing to the expansion of the vocabulary of the guitar, and to music of our time. Sten Höstfält (Hearst-felt) is a leading guitarist and composer working on the New York music scene of today. He performs with some of the most original, unique voices in modern music, and has been called highly exceptional by legendary icon of American Music Jimmy Giuffre, and virtuosic by musical innovator Joe Maneri (Jon Damian, Fresh Music, 2015)
