Jacques Kuba Seguin
Adventurous and multi-talented, trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin is a composer for groups of various formats: Odd Lot, Litania Projekt, or quintet, as for Migrations, his new album to be released in 2019. Séguin's musical repertoire is by turns melodic, explosive, and accessible. As a performer, he is definitely a showman, and he is recognized as one of the most brilliant trumpeters of his generation. A winner of the 2012-13 Radio-Canada Revelations prize, Séguin is more and more present on the Quebec stage. Born in Portugal on April 9th 1984, she immigrates to Canada at the age of 6. At the age of 11 she makes her debuts singing Fado. In Motreal she presents herself for the first time at a local Fado house called “The grandfather of Fado”. She returns to Portugal at the age of 12 and there she begins discovering other musical genres. Anthony Pageot
Anthony Pageot is the youngest member of the Pageot musical family. When he was a youth, he already showed artistic talents as he was always drawing, painting, writing stories, and playing on congas that were left over in the basement after his father’s rehearsals with friends. Music has always been around him living in his family’s household. He grew up exposed to many styles of music such as Jazz, R&B/Soul, Hip Hop, Caribbean music, and more. Born in Montreal in 1986, Frederic begins his musical apprenticeship at age 15 when he discovers the electric bass as an autodidact. In 2005, he attends the CEGEP in Drummondville in music. It is at that time that he decides to learn the upright bass with Guy Boisvert, Daniel Lessard, Gilbert Fleury and Réal Montminy as teachers. Also he had the opportunity of playing with some of his teachers professionally regularly such as Francois Bourassa, Camil Bélisle, Billy Bouffard, Denis Mailloux, and Daniel Lessard. From 2008 to 2012, he is completing his bachelor’s degree at McGill University in Jazz Performance where he studies with renowned bassist Fraser Hollins

Evan Shay
Born:
Evan Shay is a saxophonist and composer based in Montreal. Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University, Evan was presented with the Graduate Excellence Fellowship Award. While earning his Bachelor of Music, also at McGill, he was awarded the prestigious four-year Seymour Schulich Scholarship, and he earned the top distinction of Outstanding Achievement in Jazz Saxophone. Evan was a member of the McGill Jazz Orchestra I for three years, and the McGill Chamber Jazz Ensemble. In 2017, Evan was named one of the “35 Best Canadian Jazz Artists Under 35” by CBC Music

Makaya

ELEMENTS, Makaya's second album has finally arrived. Five Montreal musicians pay an acoustic and jazz hommage to the Creole musical heritage : David Bontemps, piano, Jude A. Deslouches, guitar and singing(song), Nicolas Bédard, double bass, Cydric Féréol, gwo ka, Emmanuel Delly, conga drums. This opus, produced in Montreal (at Studio Piccolo) contains eleven tracks, including the single 'Gwog Mwen’. One of Haiti's highest mountains, Makaya is also a Montreal-based creole jazz quintet. Nominated in 2010 for the TD Grand Jazz Award, and winner of the bronze medal at the Syli d'Or World Music competition in 2007, Makaya released an eponymic record in 2009
