Michel’le Toussant is an American R&B recording artist who will forever hold a place in music history as one of the most important female vocalists during the "golden-age" of West Coast Hip-Hop. A native of Compton, it was clear that Michel’le had a unique vision in regards to merging street-influenced urban culture with sultry vocals and powerful lyrics. To begin with, her voice was unquestionably one of the most unique instruments ever heard in music; a high-pitched speaking voice vs. a beautifully aggressive singing vocal. This caught the attention of Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, who at the time needed a female vocalist on what would become one of World Class Wreckin' Cru’s biggest hits, “Turn Off the Lights”
