Maria hails from one of the Philippines' most renowned family of musicians, the Jazz and Latin performers know collectively as the Katindig clan. (Her father is the legendary jazz pianist, Romy Katindig; her brother is international smooth jazz star, Boy Katindig; and her uncle is the sax great, Eddie K). In the family music business since the age of 16, Maria has performed a wide variety of musical styles, but her true passion is for jazz and bossa nova. In the Philippines, Maria’s credits include a stint with the Circus Band, a pop- rock ensemble selected to represent the Philippines at the Tokyo Music Festival in the 1970s
