Lu Colombo

Lu began singing with her mother teaching her. As a teen-ager she attended some amateur contests as guitarist and singer with the folk band Plastic Doves. In the 70s she worked for the advertising world and the theatre and met David Riondino, with whom she worked for many years. In 1980 she recorded Maracaibo, a ballad about love and adventure, to which she added a dance flavour, to make it appealing for the 80s people. The arrangements were by Mario Saroglia for Music production. Lu brought the tape in a disco, and it was an immediate success. For some month only pirated cassetes were circulationg, then in 1981the single, issued by Carosellowas out and then aremix made by D.J
