Lorenzo Feliciati

Essentially self-taught, Feliciati was drawn to the music of Led Zeppelin early on. By age 14, he gravitated to fretless electric bass after seeing Jaco Pastorius in concert with Weather Report during their Night Passage tour in 1982. “It was the last tour Jaco did with the band and one of my first live concerts. I had heard his first solo album in 1980 but seeing him that night changed my life. I discovered that you could be a bass player and still be the coolest cat on stage. Non è purtroppo un musicista che sia facile ascoltare dal vivo per la penisola Angelo Olivieri, uno dei nostri migliori trombettisti e artista che non si adagia sui materiali facili o sulle forme espressive consolidate, come ben dimostra in questa sua eccellente ultima fatica. Ve lo troviamo alla testa di un quartetto “elettrico," composto dalla chitarra ...

Lorenzo Feliciati & Michele Rabbia: Antikythera

Read "Antikythera" reviewed by Don Phipps

Light, bouncy, funky, mysterious, cosmopolitan, chill, ambient—the music on Antikythera, an album by Lorenzo Feliciati and Michele Rabbia is all of these things. The album has an urban vibe, albeit a slow-motion one , with none of the jarring effects and noise that often accompany city living. Beyond handling the bass duties, Feliciati plays ...

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
