Lars Fiil is a Danish pianist and composer currently residing in Copenhagen, Denmark. He released his first album as a leader in 2011, when the album Lars Fiil Quartet “Reconsideration” came out. It received great reviews and was nominated for a Danish Music Award. Lars Fiil Quartet also won the prestigious competition Young Jazz in 2010. Since then he has released 4 albums in his own name. The latest, Under Overfladen (2020), features his septet Fiil Free, a group that gathers some of the most prolific improvisers on the european jazz scene. He has also released two widely acclaimed albums with his trio Frit Fald. Besides his own projects, Lars Fiil is active on the Danish music scene in a number of different groups
