Johannes Walter

Johannes Walter comes out of a musical family and started early on with education in classical music. When he was still a student, he became interested in Jazz and lived in the US for a year, where he was also very much involved with music. After school he decided to study trumpet with Bert Joris at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, which he graduated from with a degree in performance and music education. Johannes has also enjoyed masterclasses with Nicholas Payton, Ingrid Jensen, Bobby Shew, Kenny Barron, Harold Mabern, Slide Hampton and others and frequently performs with (Big) Bands and his own groups of various musical styles in Switzerland and abroad.
