I am a Melbourne based Dj and Music Collector and have been active on the Melbourne Dj scene since 1999. My live Dj sets are generally an eclectic blend of Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Afrobeat and Latin, while my Dj mixes tend to be more genre specific. The one thing you can say about my style is that whatever I play it has to have a real funky, jazzy and soulful sensibility. Dj Mr Lob

Justin Pierce

Saxophonist, bandleader, and educator Justin Pierce grew up in Southeast Texas, in the Gulf Coast corridor where Louisiana’s music doesn’t stop at the state line. He and vocalist Ashley Pierce began performing together as students at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, beginning a musical partnership now in its third decade. In 2010, they toured Romania with the McNeese Jazz Band under saxophonist Rick Condit, a veteran of the Stan Kenton Orchestra.

Pierce earned his doctorate in saxophone performance at the University of North Texas, where he performed with the One O’Clock Lab Band and studied with saxophonist Brad Leali, former lead altoist with the Count Basie Orchestra. He has taught jazz at the university level for more than a decade.

Groove Alley

Groove Alley is a Chicago-based jazz combo that plays contemporary and retro groove arrangements. Their rhythms create a hip, funky vibe that’s good for the soul. For years, Groove Alley has been creating a lively, jammin’ jazz sound that pays homage to music masters such as Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Marcus Miller, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, The Crusaders and many others. Groove Alley will put you in a happy place with its blend of guitar, bass, drums, trumpet and alto sax instrumentation…all jammin' together to generate kinetic energy from their audiences. Gottfried Di Franco

Gottfried di Franco stands for a kaleidoscopical, meaningful and euphoric musical language. With their compositions saxophonist Stefan Gottfried and guitars Gabriele di Franco create besides through composed passages as much space as possible for creativity, spontaneous joy of playing and improvisation and hold up these immanent values in jazz far from shallow instrumental virtuosity. Stylistically, they meander subtly between their idols Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter and Lee Konitz, an admiring fascination for impressionistic music and their naive curiosity for free improvised music. Gottfried and di Franco combine their musical ideas, their visions as well as their stories which are being told out of the perspective of two young aspiring musicians who perceive the world with wide-opened eyes. Since they got to know each other musically in Vienna more than three years ago

Sanah Kadoura

Born: May 29, 1989

Electrifying Lebanese-Canadian drummer, Sanah Kadoura has received a Diploma, Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Jazz performance. Sanah has performed and toured the world with masters of the music as well as young up and comers. Sanah has shared the stage with the legendary Kirk Lighstey,(Dexter Gordon, Sonny Stitt, Chet Baker), Philip Harper (Art Blakey), Ed Cherry (Dizzy Gillespie) Mark Whitfield (Herbie Hancock), Joe Locke, Pat Bianchi, Tivon Pennicott, Roy Hargrove, Sullivan Fortner, among many others. Sanah now tours and records with her own band. 

Sanah Kadoura is set to release her long awaited next album 'Duality', March 3, 2023.

On the new album, the band performs as an electrified quartet, not like so far, as an acoustic quintet . The personal changes in the group were an inspiration to choose a new, unknown path, which generates the concept of a group as a multi-tasking, synergistic machine. In this way, "Termomix" outlines new boundaries on Polish jazz scene where jazz, electronics, improvised music, post-rock and mathcore become a common tool for building evolving and original sound. A wide range of instruments, various production techniques, elastic sound and finally communicative themes are just some of the features of the new Alpaka Records' title directed to an open-minded listener.

Ashleigh Smith

“My sound is not so much straight-ahead jazz,” Ashleigh Smith claims. “It’s very R&B and funk infused. That’s a part of my upbringing and I love that about my singing.” The 27-year-old Dallas-based singer and songwriter was reflecting on what set her apart from other singers at the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition of which she won. “I noticed it more when I was competing against other people.
