On Valentine's Day, they had a ball opening for Larry Braggs, former lead vocalist for Tower of Power. Performing their brand of contemporary smooth jazz, R&B, soul, a sprinkling of the blues, and gospel jazz, 496 West provides instrumental performances with a variety of combos including–music for relaxing, music for listening, and party music–from slow to jam.

Koji Yoneyama

Born: December 14, 1987

Koji is a New York-based guitar player and composer with a background in jazz, rock, Funk, Soul, and pop. He was born and raised in Osaka, Japan in 1987, graduated from Osaka University of Arts with a Bachelors in Music. Koji started playing guitar at the age of 11 and won first prize in the for Best Guitarist in the 2005 Fresh Musician Championship in Osaka. At 21 he began studying Jazz under professors Sadao Ikeda, Takashi Nakamura who teach at Osaka University of Arts. To continue his progress upon graduation, Koji studied with the legendary Kazuhiko Takeda. Since moving to New York City, Koji also had the opportunity to study with Pasquale Grasso. After graduating, Koji worked at many venues in the Osaka area as a professional session guitarist

Jan Leder

Born: May 19, 1958

A born-and-raised New Yorker, Jan Leder decided to pursue her love for improvisation after twelve years of studying classical music. She studied for three years with the late pianist Lennie Tristano and then continued her jazz studies with pianist Connie Crothers for over ten years. A self-styled course of study in jazz history at SUNY Purchase led to her compilation of the first comprehensive history of women in jazz entitled Women in Jazz: A Discography of Instrumentalists 1913-1968 (Greenwood Press 1985). Ms. Leder has enjoyed teaching jazz improvisation, although teaching has not figured prominently in her career. In 1999 Jan recorded Nonchalant (A-Records 2000), a collection of mostly original melodies

Sarah Bernstein

SARAH BERNSTEIN is a New York-based composer and violinist whose work incorporates vocals, electronics, improvisation and original text. She is known for her fiery multidisciplinary performances, and has garnered international acclaim for her distinctive recordings. She has released ten albums to date as a leader/coleader. She leads the Sarah Bernstein Quartet and VEER Quartet, and performs solo as Exolinger. Collaborations include her duo with drummer Kid Millions, synth-pop group Day So Far, and a range of projects in new jazz, chamber music, experimental pop and noise. She has placed in the DownBeat Critics Poll annually since 2015, winning “Rising Star Violinist” in 2020

Dariusz Petera

DARIUSZ PETERA - musician, pianist, composer. Team leader: Petera Sextet and jazz-rock band Fusion Generation Project. He has two albums in his discography: signed with his name "Flashover" (Lydian Series / Requiem Records, 2019), recorded with the team of Petera Sextet and "No Fusion" (Allegro Records, 2013), registered with the Fusion Generation Project team, which featured the American trumpeter Michael "Patches" Stewart. He is a graduate of the Original School of Popular Music and Jazz K. Komeda in Warsaw in the arrangement class of prof. Lucjan Kaszycki and piano by Wojciech Kamiński. Billy Prim was born in Larisa , Greece in 1997. He started playing drums at the age of 15. His musical studies include 6 years of classical piano lesson. Billy he finished his basic education in Greece but after all that the music placed him somewhere else. He moved to Hungary and there he studied the drums. During and after his studies Billy was joining several musical projects, recordings and tours with different ensembles of different genres of music. Billy keeps going on with his musical journey, improvement, looks forward to new challenges, experiments for a better and newer experience
