Will Boyd

Born: February 13, 1974

Multi-reed instrumentalist, composer, educator Will Boyd hails from soul sax tradition like artists Eddie Harris, Hank Crawford, David "Fat Head" Newman, King Curtis and Yusef Lateef. Originally from Orangeburg SC by way of Queens NY, Will currently resides in Knoxville TN. He is a member of the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra and currently has 2 solo albums “Live at the Red Piano Lounge” and “Freedom Soul Jazz”. Will also co-leads a group with Wife, jazz radio host, and founder of the Knoxville Women in Jazz Jam Festival Kelle Jolly.

Craig Brenner

Blues, boogie woogie, and jazz pianist Craig Brenner is a composer, teacher, and recipient of multiple arts grants.  Called a "fine and funky pianist" by Living Blues, Craig leads Craig & The Crawdads and is a member of The Ragin' Texans. He has recorded seven albums, has been voted "Best Musician" in Bloomington, IN numerous times in the Bloomington Independent, while Craig & The Crawdads have been selected best band in the same poll. He is the founder of Bloomington Boogies: The Bloomington Blues & Boogie Woogie Piano Festival.  A graduate of Florida Southern College, Craig attended the Indiana University School of Music from 1976 through 1980, studying with composer John Eaton, pianists Joseph Rezits and Enrica Cavallo Gulli, and jazz educator David Baker. Craig has also studied with boogie woogie and stride master Bob Seeley and blues pianist Big Joe Duskin through a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.

Igor Willcox

Born: January 6, 1981

Considered one of the most important Brazilian drummers, Igor Willcox has achieved great notoriety in the instrumental music scene with his group Igor Willcox Quartet, standing out and performing in the most important Jazz clubs around the world such as Blue Note, Yardbird Suite (Edmonton - Canada), Bourbon Street, The Jazz Room (Waterloo - CA), Frankie’s Jazz (Vancouver- CA), Bucking Jam Palace (Calgary - CA), The Rex (Toronto-CA), and Jazz Festivals such as,  North City Jazz Festival (Serbia), Bansko Jazz Festival (Bulgaria), Nisville Jazz Festival (Serbia), Summer Jazz Festival (Slovenia), Panama Jazz Festival, Santos Jazz Festival (Brazil), Play Jazz Festival (Brazil), MB Jazz (Souza Lima Berklee), etc.

Wong Foo Jeng

Born: March 5, 1997

Foo Jeng is a Malaysian pianist and composer. It is the craft of storytelling that informs his musical character, and thus his work often finds itself between the spaces of Classical and Black American music. He’s both a finalist of The American Prize in Composition and winner of the El Paso Original Music/New Ideas Competition. Moreover, his compositions have been performed by orchestras and chamber groups at events such as the St. Petersburg New Music Festival and São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival. He’s also conducted chamber and choral music for the Berklee Composers Alumni Concert as well as performed piano pieces for their bi- annual Old South Church concerts. Foo Jeng holds a degree in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music and will be attending the Manhattan School of Music in Fall 2021

The resulting burst of shared musical ideas traversing spiritual nu-jazz, Dilla-inspired hip-hop, broken beat and neo-soul, gave birth to Vertaal, the duo developing a passion for the freedom and raw expression of the music. As a youngster living in the capital, Ajit was exposed to the contrasting musical worlds of East-Coast hip hop, d‘n’b and rave culture mixed with traditional music from his family’s Indian heritage

Pedro Velasco

Pedro Velasco is a London-based guitarist who specialises in improvised music. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he began playing piano at age nine and, inspired by the Brazilian music he was surrounded by at home, picked up a guitar at age 12. Under the tutelage of renowned Portuguese guitarist Mario Delgado, he began turning to the sounds of jazz and improvised music. He moved to London in 2003 to study at Middlesex University with Nicki Isles, Chris Batchelor and Stuart Hall and in 2007 he graduated with a first-class honours degree in Music (Jazz Performance). He now performs not only on guitar, but on other string instruments as well, including double bass, portuguese guitar and oud, playing prolifically across London and the UK, and he’s also toured Europe with the free-improv group, Splatter

Born: January 22, 1965

Mike Rinta, a Grammy-winning trombonist and arranger, is native to the San Francisco Bay Area and has been freelancing for over 30 years. He has toured the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia with many bands such as: Sly & The Family Stone, Jimmie Vaughan, Howard Tate, John Lee Hooker Jr. and many others.
