Pedro Melo Alves was born 1991 in Porto/ Portugal and has consistently been working as a drummer and composer in innovative jazz bands (Omniae Ensemble, In Igma, The Rite of Trio), contemporary electroacoustic projects (his solo O or his trio symph), improvised music (with Luís Vicente, Yedo Gibson, Theo Ceccaldi), instrumental rock (Catacombe), and soundtracks for Theatre and Dance (with Schaubühne's Peter Kleinert or Carlota Lagido). With studies in Jazz and Contemporary Composition he has been recognized with composition, solo drums and band awards and is now establishing himself as one of the new european creative voices, participating in Jazzahead, 12 Points and European Jazz Conference.
